A plea to the Australian bowling community re: Australian youth team

Hi all.
I have read with interest over the last few week the pros and cons of the TBA. Whether they should send a self funded team to Orlando or not. Whether they should provide funds or not. The future of Australian bowling and how its going down the toilet.
Well here is the future of Australian bowling and there going to the World Championships. Something that most us will only ever dream about. My plea to every bowler in the country is to get behind these young ambassadours of our sport and support them with something they all need so desparately right now. MONEY. They are leaving in 4 weeks. Raffles, donations, and the like are needed and are needed now. It doesnt need to be $1000s but every $2 coin helps. And dont all go on saying that it should be AMF coming up with cash becasue personally i know that they are. Come on guys lets put up some hard earned and let these great youth bowlers of ours go and represent our country with pride and without the worry of coming back to a large loan repayment.

The link could be provided to the forum & then ppl can donate if they wish, of an amount they choose. This can be done with any team wishing to raise funds.

Does the team have a website at all or any site promoting or affiliated with them?

I don't know any of the youth bowlers or where they bowl or any other method of trying to send them a few $$'s.

In regards to the team having a Website.
I am currently colating bowler Bio's for each member of the team, after which Gillian will create a Page on the TBA website for us. Any donations made by businesses will be given free advertising for the months of June and July.

I am aware that Dozza is currently putting something together for the team in the way of donations made through the site. Please be paitent with her, she is doing a great job and getting every fine detail in order.

As a member of the team I am so greatful for all the support people have given us. Whether we have 5 weeks or 5 months raising this amount of money isnt easy. And to Absolute Bowling Supplies, your genorousity will not go unnoticed.

This is a National plea to all bowlers past and present.

I have Kelly and Totalbowlings support in this thread.

This also has team members support.

If you have ever represented your country, state or center you would appreciate the commitment and sacrifices made in life to achieve these goals. We all understand the shame that has befallen the Australian Youth Team that is heading off to the USA in 4 weeks. This post is not political and nor do I want to enter into any heated debate with regards to the lack of team funding. This team was just in the right place at the wrong time. It is also fully understood that all team members had agreed to self fund their trips. It has come to my attention that some of the Team Members have even sought finance from their banks to help fund their trips. I know that I can count on this bowling community for total support. If you know any one of them you will know they are the greatest bunch of kids that you would ever meet and you would be proud to have them represent your country. I am asking for people to dig deep to donate funds to assist in supporting the Australian Youth Team.

There are 3 Levels of sponsorship:
Gold Level $200 – Receives an authentic bowling pin, Team Photo and Letter of Appreciation.
Silver Level $100 – Receives a Team Photo and a Letter of Appreciation.
Bronze Level $50 – Receives a Letter of Appreciation.

All funds raised will be divided evenly between the 8 Team members.

We will be accepting these donations from now, 11th June, until Friday 11th July. I will be thanking each supporter here unless anonymity is requested.
All Pins, Team Photos and Letters of Appreciation will be distributed when the team returns.
