Well its only days away from the 1st Test between Australia and Sri Lanka and still Australia are in two minds as to who should be selected.

Who will replace Glenn McGrath, Mitchell Johnson or Shaun Tait?
I reckon despite a poor game against NSW Mitchell Johnson will get the nod to make his test debut. Like Tait he has plenty of pace and can swing the ball but the fact he's left arm gives variety in their pace attack.

Who will replace Shane Warne, Stuart MacGill or Brad Hogg?
MacGill is short on match practice and looked pretty flat in the game against Qld. Haydon and Symonds took him apart and personally I don't like him. He gives away to many runs and he has an attitude problem. Brad Hogg has my vote. He feels he's in career best form and despite being a one-day specialist, he took 8 wickets and man of the match in his Pure Cup game. He also has the batting qualities Warne had batting at number 8.

Who will replace Justin Langer, Jaques, Hodge, Rogers, Voges or Watson?
Probably the hardest decision to be made. In my opinion Phil Jaques has earned his chance and is a similar sort of player to Langer.

To the Test match, I think Sri Lanka will be a lot tougher opponent than England was last year. Australia hasn't played a test in almost a year and are now without the likes of Warne, McGrath, Langer and Martyn. Sri Lanka have played several tests in the last year which will give them the advantage. Sri Lanka will be hard to beat and I'll say a 1-all drawn series then hopefully they smash India 4-nill

Mitchell Johnson will play, and has 2. Being left arm and quick, also swings the ball is why Australia has spent the past couple of years making him into a quality test bowler, I can see big things from him

They will pick Stuart Macgill on past proformances, sad really, I like Brad hogg, but because he is 36, I think the selectors might not pick him, If it was up to me, he would play.

As for the opening position, I think Jaques will get the nod.

Can't wait for this season of cricket, it will be a beauty

Sri lanka won't win as Australian is to good and will be for the next few years.

Should be a good days cricket tomorrow. Sangakarra made a hundred and MacGill got belted all over the ground. Sri Lanka need about 260 which is very possible and the Aussies need 7 wickets to win the series.

Will be a very interesting last day.
Supposed to be 30° again tomorrow, but also expected to piss down in the afternoon so the rain might save the Lankans, if MacGill continues to bowl pies like he did this arvo it could be over before then though.

Yes good question. Ricky can't afford to bowl him for 2 long if he is getting spanked all over the field. Symonds will play and could play a vital role in the days play.

Sri Lanka's blown a great chance of winning this one.
Chucked their wickets away cheaply this morning, only Sangakarra offering any further resistance, out for a fine 192, caught off the helmet and a dodgy call by the umpire.
At lunch Sri Lanka need 106 to win, Australia need 1 wicket and Malinga's just plonked back-to-back 6's.
34°C and dropping, rain about an hour or so away apparently, whole place is covered in thick smoke presently.

That was a disgraceful decision to give Sangakarra out for 192. I feel sorry him him, would have been 3 double centuries in 4 innings. His innings was very entertaining to watch. But you're right Tiger, had Sri Lanka not submitted all there wickets, I reckon they would have won. Great to see Mitchell Johnson get off to a great start to his test career

Great finish to the game with Malinga smashing a few 6s. i love watching Murali bat it's so funny. 14 Test wins in a row for the Australians. Now for India. Don't think they have the attack to bowl Australia out but have a strong batting line-up. Should be a great series, looking forward to it

pity umpires played apart of the out come,Sangakarra was not out and the lee run out could of gone either way.

I think india will be harder to beat, i think at present the record 16 wins is safe unless the bowling attack gets better, macgill has to get his line back and feel the ball,

I think our bowlers had injuries hopefully over the next 5 weeks they get sorted

India's batsmen are only behind Australia as the best players of spin in the world. I think Australia should give Brad Hogg a go. He wouldn't bowl as many pies as MacGill and his wrong 'un is harder to pick than MacGill's. India's powerhouse batting line up which will include Tendulker, Dravid, Yuvraj and Dhoni will slaughter MacGill all over the country. Vote 1 for Hogg!! GO AUSSIES

After watching Pontings innings the other day, is he the best batsmen since Bradman??

I love the Cricinfo commentator.

"For those joining us now let me remind you that it is not T20 international"

He's come out with some classics over the years.
this isnt the same bloke who refered to Langer as a brown nose little gnome

Nah that was someone on Baggygreen. He speaks the truth though, don't get me started on what I hate about Langer! "Oh Mr Waugh, I'll run through a brick wall if you ask me to..."

There was a forum which had a thread of the Cricinfo guy's highlights from over the years, but I can't for the life of me remember what it was.

That was an absolutely awesome finish to that test match!!!

On ya pup.. more wickets than he got runs!!! :p

Nail biting stuff!

:D

Oh what a game, Great to watch. Awesome afternoon, I was glued all afternoon. On ya Australia

I was screamin at my tv when Pup got the last 3. Just when i thought he woulda been in trouble for his low run scores.

I was at work and missed the last session, I figured it'd be a draw, got to the bowl and the mechanic told me the Aussies had got up in the last over.
I pissed myself laughing, I'm glad those spoilt, whingeing, arrogant little turds lost.
No doubt they'll play the race card like they always do in apportioning blame for the loss.
