Hi Everyone,
With bowling technology becoming more of a factor everyday, it seems that one way of “evening the playing field” for all bowlers is to change the oil pattern. To help promote integrity and shot-making ability to the sport of tenpin bowling, the United States Bowling Congress (USBC) has recently developed “Sport Bowling.” Sport bowling (similar to the 3:1 oil pattern ratio implemented by TBA at nationally ranked tournaments) is a way to reward bowlers for consistent shot-making by oiling the lanes so it is difficult to achieve high scores. Sport bowling requires consistency, accuracy, and spare shooting to be the best on the day.
To help promote the development of better athletes and to promote tenpin bowling as a “sport,” I am holding a Sport Bowling Training Weekend in Victoria in January 2006. Please go to the Victoria forum of the Totalbowling website and look at the post titled Sport Bowling TRAINING WEEKEND and Update: Sport Bowling Training Weekend for more details.
Attention coaches: THIS WOULD BE AN EXCELLENT TRAINING WEEKEND FOR PRESIDENT SHIELD TEAMS! I could reserve a weekend next year before president shield to run these training weekends solely for your teams.
If you have any questions, please email me on christopher.mesagno@research.vu.edu.au
thanks
chris
