Brenton Manning picks up $500 for 1,000 in Vili's Super League

Last weeks Vili's Super League (rd 12) saw a full on match between Kerry Ann Klop and Brenton Manning which had some interesting facts...

Do we feel sorry for Brenton or Kerry or both ?????????

Kerry’s first game was a 279 beating Brenton’s 240
Brenton’s second game 278 beating Kerry’s 229
Kerry’s third game was 257 beating Breton’s 216
Brenton’s final game 269 to beat Kerry’s 222

Series totals Brenton 1003 & Kerry 987

Most consecutive strikes Kerry’s opening 9 in a row in first game
Brenton also had 9 in a row over the end of the first game and start of the second game
Brenton had 8 in a row in the final game

Total strikes over the 4 games Brenton = 34, Kerry = 35 !

Highest game Kerry’s 279. Lowest game Brenton’s 216. Only one open frame was bowled by either player Kerry’s 7th frame of the last game…. If she spared it, Kerry’s series would have been 1001 and she also would have picked up $500 bonus from Vili’s Pies for the effort, but Brenton’s 1003 has made him $500 and narrowed the gap between himself and Sam Parrella in the $4,000 first place to just 5 points, with Tony Stoppel just 4 points back in third.
No matter who wins the fight for the 1st place Brenton might be able to use his $500 and other prize money is he wins the draw for $4,000 worth of travel at the end of the season - but there might be one or two people that hopes Kerry's luck might change by then !

24 PINS SEPERATES THE TOP 3 - $4,000 FIRST PLACE COULD BE ANYONE !
The final stages of this season’s Vili’s Super League could not have been a better for the finish and the $4,000 first place prize.
Sam Parrella (212 ave) has surged back to the lead just 18 pins in from of Brenton Manning (212 ave) with Tony Stoppel (213 ave) a further 6 pins back in 3rd spot.
Due to the success and great, spirit in which this season has been played to date it is under series consideration to put up the same prize fund for next season. Entry will stay the same $60 and $30 per week for the 4 games with a 6.15pm start at Cross Roads
Plus the special bonus $4,000 travel prize just for playing the full season in the league – draw open to all members at the dinner.
Stay tuned and if you know of anyone interested in playing make sure they talk to us as all players need to be signed up soon as it is expected that the final night of this season is on Monday 23rd July the dinner presentation is booked for the weekend of the 28/29 (this will be confirmed in the next few days) and the first night of the new season is Monday 30th August.
We will play up till Monday 10th December and then have a 4 or 5 week break over Christmas and then play the next round.
PS Two more of SA’s best bowlers from the past have indicated they will be bowling next season, who else can take these people on ?
