An announcement yesterday from some tool, is that Manly will be getting 9 million from Howards goverment to put a grandstand on the hill at Brookvale oval. Why do us tax payers have to pay for that Sh%t hole. It will be only short lived as Howard won't be in after Saturday's vote, so Manly will be getting squat. Kevin Rudd isn't going to approve it, nor should he;)

This new stadium will house all of Manly supporters, it is set to hold 4000 people folks, no that's not a mis print or spelling error, 4000 people, what a stadium.:D

It is set to beleave that all players will be taking a pay cut, and menzies will play for free to help with the new facilities. lol

They also have a new signing, Meet Ian

THE battle to keep the Manly Sea Eagles at Brookvale received some federal help yesterday after Warringah MP Tony Abbott unveiled a $9 million funding package to upgrade the oval.

Days out from the Federal Election and on the eve of a planned Brookie Forever protest, the Health Minister made a quick change into a Sea Eagles jersey and delivered the news local league fans had been waiting for.

The rugby league club has been lobbying all levels of government for $17.5 million in funding for several years and has ramped up its efforts in the past week.

Talks have recently been held with the NRL about a possible relocation to the Central Coast if the Eagles could not secure money to overhaul the ramshackle ground.

Making the announcement at Brookvale Oval yesterday, Mr Abbott said he hoped the funding would keep the Eagles on the northern beaches.

``Brookvale Oval is home to the Manly Warringah Sea Eagles, runners-up in this year's grand final,'' he said. ``The team's management has advised that Brookvale no longer complies with occupational health and safety requirements.

``But the Sea Eagles are an important part of the local community and should remain at Brookvale Oval.''

Mr Abbott immediately called on the Federal Opposition to match this commitment and asked the State Government and Warringah Council to provide the balance of funds needed for the redevelopment to proceed.

The ABC's Chaser boys tried to upstage Mr Abbott at the announcement when they ambushed him outside Brookvale, and presented him with the MAL award.

A Chaser spokesman said the award was presented to the person who had created the greatest act of political suicide during an election campaign.

``It's named in honour of Mal Meninga, who ended his political career in about five minutes on the radio in 2001.''

and wait here are the shots of what it will look like with all the funding
