Finals Time:
Boys Final
Jack Livingston jumped out of the blocks with 255, 218 & 233 for a 706 series to establish a lead that in the end proved too good for the rest of the field, even thou his brother Hugh also started well with 182, 224 & 245 for a 651 series. by the 6th game hugh had brought the margin down to 4 pins but was 34 pins behind as he could only manage to win 1 game compared to his Brothers Jack 4 wins. Nathan Parlby shot 227, 207 & 224 but could only manage a 177 in his last game. Ben Tait finish 4th with Rick Baird and John Allen filling 5th & 6th Spot.
Girls Finals:
The girls also had some very good games with Rebecca Whiting setting the pace with 209, 203 & 226 in the first 3 games for a 638 series. Rachelle Flynn managed to stay in 2nd place however like Hugh in the boys Rachelle could only win 2 games. Laura Kairn finished in 3rd place just ahead of Shannon Elso, with Morwell's Toni-Maree Bosma coming 5th ahead of Taiya Bagley.
It was fantastic to have 18 junior girls enter this event and can only be better next year.

The Graded division was interesting as the winner Adam Robertson averaged 193 scratch to win by 48 pins from Simon Valenti with Stephen Ford a further 39 pins away in 3rd place. Ross O'Neil Hall posted a 184 scr ave to finish just 14 pins from the main placegetters, with Braedyn Gavin and Shafiqah Shariff in 5th and 6th spot.Adam shot a 201 and 233 scr along with Ross 221.

At the presentation Dave McEwen made a speech and committed OTB to the Junior Melbourne Cup for the next 3 years. Sponsorship will be in the form of bowling balls and Bags and other items as they become available thru Columbia and OTB.Thanks must also go to Vic Tenpins for their support for this event and it is fantastic to see our State Association getting behind Junior Tournaments in Victoria. And finally special thanks go to Luke Lovegrove for his live score on Vic Tenpins and Ed Fleming Lanes web-sites as well as Sue Jones and Robyn Bull for their efforts with all the scoring and all the other boring stuff that needs to be done to run a successful event. I would also like to thank all the bowlers and parents for making the journey to EFL and give yourselves a pat on the back because without you there would be not be a Junior event to bowl in.

The future looks good for Junior bowling in Victoria and the 2007 event will be upgraded to a 2 day event which will make this event worthwhile for some of our interstate bowlers.
Until next year Thanks:cool:
