Semi final Result Amanda 1-Nikki Harvey England 2
Game 1: 170 - 216
Game 2: 278 - 248
Game 3: 194 - 238
Fantastic effort by both Paul and Amanda, commiserations for not going all the way but surely one of Australias better results overall.
Nikki Harvey denied Amanda Bradley's bid for her second AMF World Cup title defeating the 1999 champion in the deciding game.
Both players struggled early in the match, leaving two (Nikki) and three (Amanda) open frames. While Amanda continued fishing around to get the right line to the pocket, the 25-yaer-old teacher from Hampshire struck on every shot on the right-hand side. When she found something on the left lane she struck out for a 216-170 win.
World class bowling in game #2. The 27-year-old Aussie struck ten times and left two ten pins in the seventh frame and on her fill ball for the highest score on TV thus far, 278. Nevertheless, Nikki was in touching distance all the time. She struck five more times on the right lane and even forced Amanda to strike in her tenth frame with 248.
Both players started the deciding game with a triple. Amanda then missed a 10-pin spare to give Nikki a 12-pin lead in the fifth frame. Nikki owned the right-hand lane, producing 15 strikes in three games. Amanda handed her the match on a plate when she missed her second 10-pin spare in the seventh frame. Nikki then reeled off three consecutive (frames seven through nine) and advanced to the women's final, 238-194. Her three-game series was 702. http://www.bowlingdigital.com
