Another Country Cup over for another year.... Congrats to the Sunraysia women, it was a superb effort from you girls, and you deserve your accolade and the trophy!!

Congrats to the Shepp men, who had the same team as Ballarat (must be an omen) and pulled together and bowled as one unit which resulted in the big one!! Well done Kev on your 300, I'm sure it's something you'll never forget!!

Congrats to the Sunraysia team on taking out the very close, down to the last game overall. It made the spectating enjoyable, especially in the 8th frame when it wasn't looking too promising.

Well Done to all who made the All Stars team, with a special congrats to Lyndon from Albury on his first All Star inclusion. You bowled awesome all weekend and you should be proud!!

Congrats to the MVP's for this year and the Encouragement award receivers.

To Rob, Lisa, Dave and Staff, there is nothing more to say that hasn't been said already. You guys know how to run a brillant tournament, and this was no exception.

I also just want to thank my Albury team mates for putting up with me. I had a ball, you guys are a hoot!!

And finally, the Monday night social function was the best idea. It really made the weekend something special and should be included each and every year.

Can't wait for next year to roll around again.

Thanks to everyone that competed at Country Cup this year and also the supporters. It's good to see such great sportsmanship.

A hugh thanks to David for a fantastic job. Poor bugger got more than he bargained for. (I sure hope you were'nt expecting to see any bowling Dave ;))

To Narelle, also coming up to watch, didnt get much time being Dave's helper and getting thrown in the deep end in the cafe, thanx heaps Nelly.

The Bum Man (Georgie) You are an absolute treasure. How many bowling centres have a bowler that would offer there help, turn up at 6.30am and leave at 11pm. Just goes to show Colac really do breed die-hards.

To Lyn, Rach, Courtney and Leanne great job in cafe. Totally blew me away how busy the cafe was.

Greg and Paul, (down back) thanx for a job well done and keeping Rob sane.

To Rob, next year babe ;)

To The Sunraysia Girls:
Alicia- You led us to victory all weekend, so proud of you, great bowling. Michelle- Mrs realiable. You bowled awesome and congrats on your most valuable player award. Cathie- I love your competitive spirit and determination and you will be bigger and better next year. Robyn- Anyone needing a lesson on the term "TEAM PERSON" take a note out of Robyn's book. Your a inspirational person to have in our team. Shelby- You made Jodie and I laugh and cry. You did a great job in your 1st C/Cup, not many can say they won their 1st. Jodie- So pleased to have had you standing beside us, we will be even harder to beat next year with you bowling.

My Top 5 Highlights
1/ Winning the women's division trophy
2/ Winning the overall trophy
3/ Seeing Cathie's face when Dave told her he was going to give her a ball.
4/ Georgie Crying
5/ Bryce telling me what his father told him about contraception OMG

Thanx again to everyone, See you all in Wodonga

Lisa

HEy Guys

Country Cup has finished for another year but for us what a Country Cup it was for us to finish 7-0 in the last game to hold off a fast finishing geelong and sunraysia was fantastic as in the past we have been known to snatch defeat from the jaws of victory

Congrats To LIsa,Rob and Dmac for a well run Tournament and an extra special mention to Rob the job you guys did down the back to keep us running was very much appreciated

Congrats To Sunraysia for Winning the Womens Division and The Overall, congrats to the allstars and MVP's and encouragement award winners

Some highlights for me

The 300 ,giving a high ten to hammer after the 11th shot and seeing bowlers and supporters crammed in behind 5 and 6 waiting for the last shot was a surreal feeling, than to put the last shot in was indescrible feeling ,(I tried Europhoric but Craig didnt like that....:p)

Winning the mens division for the 2nd time ,as good a a feeling as the first but for the team not to crack under the pressure made it all the better

Motta's kick and miss of the ball return to land flat on his arse :):):):),I'm sure that high leg style thru the kick will land you an NFL punters job when you decide to give bowling away.....and the saying straight after it happened
:p:p:p:pStupid doesnt get less and less Stupid is for life:p:p:p

Woza and his 5 7 10 leave the cheer for that was'nt as big as motta''s fall but was a close second

Monday Nights get together ,what a night good food, good drink and good friends,it was great to see almost every bowler from C/Cup there having fun, getting into mischief and generally letting there hair down ,there were plenty of sore heads Tuesday Morn me being one of them although I'm sure it was the oysters not the alcohol that caused it;),the occassion was topped off when Hammer and Motta realised in there drunken stupors that they were actaully related and were long lost Lebbo Bros (they celebrated the occasion by riding a concrete lion at 2.30am at a house in Deakin ave)

A couple of special mentions
To the guys Chris,Paul,Tim,Tim,Pete,Terry And Rau Paul ,No Sorry Dave Carmichael thankyou for the effort you guys are the greatest

Deano you led from the front and almost got the guys there your presence on and off the lanes was felt by all,to not bowl for 9 months and come back from a mojor knee problem to lead your side shows character you are a true champion

Ray I reckon you silenced a few critics on the weekend, keep punching m8 its all forward from here on

Craigy the Figure gets fuller and the hair gets greyer but you keep on keeping on 25 years ago you were an inspiration 25 hours ago and you still are

And last of all Chucky A Country Cup without you present at some stage just would'nt be country cup

Again well done to the winners and commiserations to the loosers see you all next year at Wodonga

Kev Wilkins
Shepparton

Well done to everyone involved in this years C/C. Especially to you Kev, great 300 so I heard. Next year will be a battle of attrition, me thinks. So, everyone bring your A game to the border, you'll need it. See you all here next year

Too many sensible posts in here now.

Might as well start for 2011.

Shepparton sucks.

Hammer can't spare.
Kev is past it and lives in retirement position.
Pete keeps the bench (and probably more) warm for them.
Tim and Tim - Bill and Ben
Paul.... enough said.
Rowey, 3/3 times in the team when Shep has won. Only good bowler they have.

Shepparton also won.. like im no genious but, is this waynes double?? lol

I'd be taking B, C & even D (or in Motta's case F) just in case. :p

Well said

The old bugger gave me some advice probably in our first or second conversation, (I believe) I became a better bowler for it and have quoted it to others on many occasions.

True and True

Have to say well done to the staff at the bowl. working at a bowl can be a tough challenge at the best of times let alone having 3 solid days of it with pin stands, pins in the gutter and machine break downs.

bit disapointed that only Woza's 5-7-10 was mentioned, there were at least 7 bowled that i know of, 2 being from Nicole.

i do have an off the topic question - what was with the Hula skirts on the palm trees down the street?

well it was good to see old friends again and make some new ones.

see you all at Wodonga

To answer your question bout the palm trees , its for the local arts fest . .

I wouldnt throw stones at Hamma Gaz after u dumped that shot at the 6-10 straight in the ditch...halfway down, when u needed that to win your point against us on the last day!

You are talking about one spare. I am talking about year after year struggling with spares like Hammer does.

So yes I will throw stones.

Forgot to mention the two major disappointments I had as TD.

Both involved Jason Motta!

1. Given my Ipod seemed to not want to talk to the bowl's sound system on a consistant basis, we could not play 'Yesterday's hero' as lane change song for the entire Sunday Morning block as I had planned.

2. I sent out two people to locate a CD for me to pay tribute to one of the golden moments of the weekend, unfortunately we were unable to locate any copies of the Footloose soundtrack (guess they're all safely tucked away in Moe somewhere).

Still coming to terms with the disappointment from these disturbing incidents.

Well another country cup as been run and won, on that note a huge congrats to Sunraysia women, Shepp men and Sunrasia on the cup. A great thing to win at home. The Shepp men what a great example of team bowling, way to good for us, Kev 300 at c/cup does not get any better mate. For us there was much info taken on board and more to learn, the rebuilding goes on. I was proud of our guys, they had a real crack, I know they will be better for the expreince. Congrats to Rob, Lisa, Dave and staff for a well run event, fair conditions as was indicated by the different styles in the All Stars Team. I had a great time felt like I had not been away at all, great to catch up with all my old mates and foes. Might give it a go next year, thanks to everyone for a great w/end:):):):):):):):).

Gordon Robinson.

GAry have you been smokin the whiskas you shaved off :p:p
