Assoc Challenge Form and Odds

Just a Bowler
Welcome Merry Men and Wholesome Wenches to the 19th running of the Association Challenge. Mother Nature felt she needed to decide on the location earlier this year by pretty much dumping a crap load of rain across the state and see what stays put …….. and the winner was Rockinghampton.

Sheriff Mckenna welcomes all to the mystery that is Rockinghampton. But beware of the dangers that lurk within. From the metal monsters of the pits to his 2 evil henchmen, Lager and Ale, is there anywhere that is safe other than the higher ground. We need Heroes and Heroines to fight this challenge. Has your Association got what it takes?

Let’s see what the Bagman says:

The Berg of Bundy: Men 25-1, Women 30-1, Combined 33-1

These merry band adventurers are no strangers to the Rockinghampton’s defenders. They provide them with alot of their preferred drink. These tough challengers will need to consume a great deal of their local product in order to deal with the almost impossible challenges ahead of them. Bringing more than enough and distributing it to the other groups may also help their cause.

The Bay of Hervey: Men 20-1, Women 33-1, Combined 30-1

The Lords smallest principality is led by the ponderous and jolly Sir David Weild. Sir David’s translator may not be able to make it this year so all competitors are encouraged to smile & nod if he speaks to you. He generally surrounds himself with a young band of adventurers that lack nothing in the courage and skill departments. Unfortunately the temptation of the Berg’s gift seems to seal their fate.

The Coast of Gold: Men 4-1, Women 2-1, Combined 3-1

Sir HOF Muffin from the coast of gold has assembled a seasoned band of adventurers which could upset Sheriff Mac plans. It seems that they have been dabbling heavily into the dark arts of wizardry and witchcraft especially in one spell particularly......"The Carry of Looby”. A dangerous spell that we might never see the end of if they succeed.

The Ture of Cabool: Men 5-1, Women 5-1, Combined 5-1

Baron Bates has resorted to the divine help of its resident “Guru” to achieve greatness once again. An unusual horde this mob with old faces, solid performers and the fairy godmother to sweeten things over. Still missing one little thing..... Can you guess what it is?????

The Town of Two: Men 16-1, Women 25-1, Combined 25-1

Mother Nature destroyed pretty much everything in the Town of Two robbing them of probably their best chance of taking the prize. They have regrouped and assembled a band of true and tried performers that have in the past always pushed their opposition.

Rockinghampton: Men 2-1, Women 10-1, Combined 8-1

Sheriff Mac is going to great lengths to keep the gold.He has scoured the land to find suitable thugs to support Lager and Ale in the quest. His henchmen are not alone, the local ladies of the court also assist their men in their foul deeds, these ladies led by another dark jester should not be underestimated.

The Coast of Shine: Men 5-2, Women 7-2, Combined 3-1

One of the strongest provinces of the land. Bolstered by the return of one of their 3 Princesses, the Shine’s only danger is if they can counter Sheriff Mac’s evil plot. They seem to have every position covered from the Damsel in Distress to the Noble Steed. Just in. It seems that one of the Princesses has broken a nail and won’t be competing. Hope this doesn’t cause a meltdown?

The Kingdom of Roy: Men 12-1, Women 16-1, Combined 20-1

Can their White Knight (Captain, Coach, Owner, Manager, Head Tech, Guinea Pig wrangler) carry the hopes of the Kingdom of Roy to victory? If the rumours are true this band has been had at work on the training paddock preparing themselves for this years tournament. They have put their mobile still in the back of their horse & cart and set off for Rockingham in the hope that they can upset the more fancied principalities.

The Gardens of Toowoom: Men 14-1, Women 16-1, Combined 20-1

This provence found high in the mountains have sent a young group on a quest of shelf discovery to test their mettle on the challenging field of battle that will be presented by Sheriff Mac. The young charges that make up this team lack nothing when it comes to courage, ability and good looks (if you can believe them). It still remains to be seen if they can focus on the task at hand.

The Bane of Bris: Men 8-1, Women 10-1, Combined 12-1

Last years challenge champions (still #1 yeah baby) have been decimated. Their winning band from last year meet the sharp blade of the Executioner and have been replaced by a new group of adventurers. No strangers to this sort of competition with experience from the East Coast region. Look for the ladies to put in a strong showing with most of the team making a triumph return.

Well good luck and good punting from the Bagman.

To everyone going to Rocky have a safe trip and see you there,
