Queensland World Cup of Champions - First Event in 07 - Unique Format - 1st Time Ever

Re: Queensland World Cup of Champions - First Event in 07 - Unique Format - 1st Time

Well done to Andy and Nathan for getting this on.

Personally i believe it would be great event as it focuses on winning matches. Just maybe sparing will count for something.

1 thing i noticed boys is what will be the pattern be for the round of 16 to the Grand Final or will it be random?

Count me in the round of 32 please.

Hey Tony

Thanks for bowling and the comments

At this stage there will be no re oil after the final qualifying stage Q3, so what ever condition we choose for the Q3 stage will be there for the rest of the tournament. We will be consulting the proper people on the patterns and how long it will last etc, so not to be rude to any well wishes we do not need input into what they will be. We will advise the entrants of the patterns on the day. (1 of the main reasons for this is there will be 3 oiling periods already for the day, let alone a 4th which will be another 45 mins. Also it isn't like we are paying through the roof for game rates so 3 oils in 4 Hrs is enough expenditure for 1 day).

Remember the Round of 16 and beyond will only consist of 4 games maximum for a pair of lanes (bowling singles 1 to a lane) so it wont be that bad, and will see who can adjust the best.

The for the question Tony it was bound to come up sooner or later

Regards Andrew & Nathan

Re: Queensland World Cup of Champions - First Event in 07 - Unique Format - 1st Time

Love the exciting new format you've devised.

Please take the following statement as a genuine concern from those bowlers who may wish to bowl this format but cannot justify the expense of travelling from any longer than driving distance.

My only apprehension is that the ROI (return on investment) is only 4 for 1. And that's if you win!

I know for myself, that adding in a return flight from Melbourne and a night's accommodation to the $125 entry fee would mean that in order to break even, I'd have to win the tournament. Placing anywhere lower in the final standings would mean a losing trip.

Queensland World Cup of Champions......hardly.
How about calling it the Queensland Cup of Champions and omitting the word World.

Re: Queensland World Cup of Champions - First Event in 07 - Unique Format - 1st Time

Thats for the feedback Wayne.

We would love to be able to pay more for the prizefund. but at this stage we are working on just bowlers entries to fund the prize fund.

We are working on some cash sponsorship and if this happens then it will be increased.

Thanks Wayne

But the tournament is worthy of a catchy title, it got a victorian to check it out didn't it?? and there are plenty of champs in the field, well we don't have you yet, but we're working on it

Ok gotcha Wyane, well the reason behind that is because it is based on the World Cup format so we've sort of named it after that. Also I like to make the titles sound catchy and attention grabbing. Thanks for the input Wayne. Hopefully we can get you up for an event in the future. Keep an eye out though as the prize fund could increase, if so it will be posted here.

Kind Regards Nathan

hey jase i know its something u inherited when u took over the site but the censorship of certain words is over the top

D I C K for example some people cant even put their names in.

Mate u do an awesome job with this site but something like that. Im sure people on here arent going to call each other di cks and if they do really it isnt that offensive.

Just my opinion

Re: Queensland World Cup of Champions - First Event in 07 - Unique Format - 1st Time

I must admit to agreeing with Ninja 299 on this one ! Daniel has represented his state in WDV and I think I would be offended if my given name was represented as a 'bad' word ........ what would happen if he made an Oz Team? Surely, those bowlers who continually offend with bad language on this site could be dealt with (maybe I am in fairyland on this one !!!!). AND I do not intend this to be a negative post either but a positive one for Daniel who is a great supporter of our sport.
