Why cant it be ninepin instead of tenpin

Last wednesday i had the worst run of nines i have ever had.

In four games i had 19 9's and only 9 strikes (5 in the last game). I couldnt believe how much bad luck i had.

Of the 19 9's, about 10 times it was the 5 pin. Its so frustrating to see pins go flying across the deck to only miss the 5 pin time and time again.

I found out after it wasnt just me, one other bowler had 7 consecutive 9 spares! (i got up to 5)

Anyone else had a run of luck (or bad luck) like this?

Leaving 5 pins from pocket hits suggests a weak shot. To much deflection. The ball isn't driving through the pins. You need to get more lift on the ball. Or perhaps you're not following through. In whcih case the ball won't finish. There's a reason why they call the 5 pin the kingpin.

This use to be a 9 pin sport. :wink:

I actually discussed that with my team mate afterwards. Am going to try and work on getting more lift.
