Walsh & Wilton Lead After Day 1 at SPC

Jason Walsh and Kate Wilton lead their respective fields in the 2002 Ebonite South Pacific Classic after Day 1 of qualifying.

Walsh averaged 227.3 (1818 pinfall) on his way to a 32 pin lead from 16 year old Michael Zentveld (1786, 223.3 ave). Australian FIQ representative Paul Trotter is positioned in 3rd a further 7 pins back.

Kate Wilton, another Australian FIQ rep, averaged 217.8 (1742 pinfall) on the first day of qualifying, to set up a 51 pin lead over Tasmanian Kassey Fechner (211.4ave, 1691). Former World Cup champion Amanda Bradley is sitting in 3rd place a further 5 pins back (210.8ave, 1686).

There were 6 countries represented in this event : Japan, Hong Kong, New Zealand, Singapore, Finland and of course Australia.
