Cara Honeychurch has continued her outstanding run of form in Australian tournaments.

After winning her previous three tournaments she has contested in this country, Honeychurch averaged 231 (2310 pinfall), to lead by 26 pins from New South Welshman Phil Ramsay. Ramsay (228.4ave, 2284 pinfall) bowled a 147 in game 7 tonight, which dropped him from progressive first place, however a 289 next game ensured he resumed his climb towards the lead. Jason Belmonte is currently in 3rd place only 10 pins further back, with another lefty Andrew Lloyd in 4th (226.9 ave,2269) The cut for the top 48 was 203.0 average (Keiran Mott).

Honeychurch, whose last 3 Australian tournaments have netted her 3 tournament wins (Queensland Cup 2001, Australian Open 2001 & 2002), started off qualifying with a 279 game, with only a solid 8 pin denying her a 300 game.

The top 48 return for a 6 game shootout tomorrow morning at 9am Local Time, the field then cuts to the top 16 for the Matchplay. The remainder of the field will bowl an 8 game plate final.
