Belmonte Leads Brunswick Australian Cup

Jason Belmonte from New South Wales holds a handy lead going into Day 2 tomorrow of the Brunswick Australian Cup at Canberra International Bowl in Canberra.

Shooting a 235.9 average for his 10 games (2359 pinfall), with a high game of 278, Belmonte leads Jarrod Lean from NSW by 52 pins. Neil Donnelly from New South Wales by is a further 17 pins back(2307, 230.7 average) in 3rd. Mac Stewart from Victoria is sitting in 4th place, with David Kuhn from SA in 5th, Brett Smith from the ACT 6th, Robert Townsend from NSW in 7th and Brandon Qualischefski from QLD is 8th. Jason Walsh from NSW is in 9th place, with Cara Honeychurch, who received the most votes in our Brunswick "Win A Ball" Competition, is currently in 10th.

The Top 48 bowlers return at 9am tomorrow for a 6 game Shootout, with the Top 16 going through to a 15 game Matchplay final.

Bowlers finishing in places 17th through 32nd will be invited to contest the plate final, with those bowlers bowling a further 8 games.
