Granger and Koh lead 9th Chinese Taipei Open Masters finals after Block 1

Former PBA bowler Purvis Granger and World Youth Masters champion Sharon Koh, Malaysia, took the lead in the 9th Chinese Taipei International Open Bowling Championships after the first of two 8-game blocks at Twin Wood Bowling Center in Fengyuan.

Granger finished his series with a 267 game to beat out Daniel Lim, Malaysia, by 10 pins. The American felled 1814 pins and averaged 226.75. Lim was second with 1804 followed by his compatriots Zulmazran Zulkifli and Aaron Kong with 1741 and 1729, respectively.

Koh held a comfortable 156-pin lead behind an 1827 series, the highest of both men and women, an average of 228.38. Qualifying leader Geraldine Ng, Singapore, was second with 1671 with Chan Shuk Han, Hong Kong, in third at 1638.

All 41 men and 34 women will return for the second 8-game block to cut to the top six men and six women, who will advance to the stepladder finals.
