Bowling Tragic
I had some spare time today..lol ...Just like every day,
Whom does everyone consider to be the top 10 bowlers in the 45 year history of Australian Tenpin Bowling?

My top ten are as follows, in no particular order.

Cara Honeychurch
Andrew Frawley
Ian Bradford
Jason Belmonte
Brenton Davy
George Frilingos
Chris Batson
Terry Wenban
Jeanette Baker
Carl Bottomley

Im sure there are a couple great bowlers from the 60's & 70's that could be there also. You did say the last 45 years, not just the last 20 didnt you.

In no particular order either, just as I think of them.

Carol Gianotti
Chris Batson
Terry Wenban
Jason Belmonte
Jeanette Baker
AMP
Andrew Frawley
Silvano Prez
Gary Kee
Ian Bradford

My 2 cents worth.

While I am honoured to be included in Waynes list, here is mine in no particular order

Joe Velo
Jeanette Baker
Ian Bradford
Jason Belmonte
Ruth Guerster
Ann-Maree Putney
Chris Batson
Terry Wenban
Carol Gianotti
Cara Honeychurch
John Sullivan

with apologies to the "bench"

Eric Thompson
Steve Lovell
Sue Cassell
Andrew Frawley
Steve Mackie
Jason Walsh
Gary Kee
Richard Hall
Tom Kury
George Frilingos
Ron Powell
Jan Kozaki
Brian Bridges
Gary Jeffery

and the list goes on.............and on

All have records that anyone would be proud of

If I have missed anyone out, sorry, but its late.

Nice one Brenton, I was wondering if anyone would include Velo and Sullivan. If I remember correctly, Sully was a 'full roller' which makes his efforts all the more outstanding.

Australia has had somwe pretty awesome bowlers in it's time; but my top 10 would have to be (in no particular order)

1. Joe Velo
2. Cara Honeychurch
3. John Sullivan
4. Jeanette Baker
5. Ian Bradford
6. Carol Gianotti
7. Jason Belmonte
8. Ann-Maree Putney
9. Chris Batson
10. Carl Bottomley

There are a hell of a lot of other great bowlers who didn't make the list which is in no way being disrespectful to them, but I really believe the above 10 are the absolute best of the best.

The above people have totally dominated their particular era of bowling, both nationally and internationally, are/have been amazing ambassadors for our game.

But most importantly if I had to choose someone to bowl a game to determine if I was to live or die, then it would definately be one of these people.

All of the above should be in the Australian Bowling Hall of Fame

Cheers

Steve Hunt :D

As I said, there is no order to my list.
Ive named bowlers who I have watched and learned about.
The 10 I have named have a great list of records and achievements that they built up over time and all deserve to be there.

I've been around a bit longer than most, still some of these are from the records.
