Good Luck Belmo & Walshy

The guy that beat him aint bad either!! Dont forget about Leo DiBennedetto either, still qualifies as an Aussie in my book and hes way up the list(about 22nd i think)

- 56 for Jason Walsh (Walshy, if I understood well...)
+ 180 for Andrew Koff
(+52 for Michael Fagan, I like his bowl playing ;) )

Bonjour Madam! Wow, a French bowling fan! That sounds rarer than Walter Ray Williams Jr. missing a single pin spare! Who is your money on Virginie? I'd love to see England's Dominic Barrett do well which he appears to be doing so far!

Au revoir!

Was Jason and Belmo's squad up first or second today?

If they were up first today, then they would have the best look tomorrow on the tracked out pattern that will have opened up a little for them both. That will help Belmo especially.

Unfortunately it looks like Jason has fallen foul of the toughest condition in pro bowling. I can relate to that because I played that same pattern in 2003 at the US Open when it was in sunny California and if you are ever so slightly off your game it will bite you on the butt big time. There will be 230 average league bowlers out there averaging 160 because there is no area except for the 2nd squad, and even then there isnt a lot.

looks like you need some ball speed out there, Eugene had a good day today also as belmo.

Lets hope Walshy can make the first cut

Ball speed is a premium. The pattern is flat with not a huge volume. Even I could hook a polished (admittedly low load particle) ball on the pattern and the backend only gets bigger as the week goes on. THe secret is to go with less surface and flare as the week goes on and if you have to adjust, DON'T swing the ball more. Keep relatively tight angles and play up the boalrds if possible. If not then play tight and stay tight.

Belmo dropped to 13th (after 2 squads) at +205 after being short of the card for the first time in qualifying.

Name to watch: Tommy Jones. After shooting +166 in qualifying round 3 and a 300 in game 14, he again looks to be the benchmark and is setting up another major win.

As far as I can see, one of only 4 non-PBA member to make this illustrious group! And all the more impressive when we see some of the names that didn't make the cut ... Walter Ray Williams Jnr, Brian Voss, Chris Barnes, Danny Wiseman ... the list goes on and on.

Amazing experience ahead when he's matched against Parker Bohn III, David O'Sullivan and Tommy Jones, to name just a few......

Go Belmo!!

There is an awesome frame by frame live scoring system on the PBA site in the matchplay and it looks like Jason is going to start with the first two wins. The second against the great Parker Bohn III.

Wow, there must be some tough pairs today. Belmo beats Loschetter in game 3: 154 to 133. Now that's a grinding win!

results after 1st round of matchplay.....
