Good Luck to all rolling off,Sounds like a fair system for the coasters this year

Runner-up is not that good a result in our book.
We should be able to correct that situation in 2009, we're going to change their medication.

Couple of minor notes to add to the original post.

Firstly, If anyone wishes they can pay the full amount including the deposit at the first roll-off, however we would like some prior indication of who actually intends rolling off.

Secondly, as there are 4 roll-offs there may be the odd date conflict which does clash with personal arrangements.

The committee will therefore consider exemption requests from any individual roll-off that a bowler cannot attend. In other words they will still be eligible for selection.

What time does bowling start? I'll be interested in rolling off.
Did you want people who are interested to right their name down here? Or talk to the bowl?

Hi Krystal Here are the times:

Please note the check-in time for the initial roll-off at Tweed will be 7.30am Queensland time. Bowling to start at 8.00am Queensland time.
All other roll-offs will check-in at 8.30am Queensland time and start at 9.00am Qld time.

Good idea to start a squad thread here.

Date change affecting Gold Coast

The second round of the Gold Coast Challenge Roll-Off at Burleigh has been changed from Feb 1 to Feb 8th.

This is not to suit any entrant who cant make the original date, it is following a request from TBAQ as they need that date for a roll-off they are scheduling in Brisbane.

TBAQ cannot use any other date as it would mean conflicting with other events most of which are ranked. Some Gold Coast bowlers will most certainly want to enter this Brisbane roll-off, details of which will be announced very shortly.

Andrew

i am pretty sure that this clashes with the 1st Stop of the touring circuit in Bundaberg. Of which a fwe gold coast bowlers normally bowl in

Thanks Andrew we are aware of the Rum Classic and unfortunately it seems the only way to go. We have had multiple email communication re dates and it seems there is no other way.
Most other dates we go up against either a ranked event or school holidays or something else of equal importance.
The only other option is to cancel the second round of Gld Coast roll-offs and we really dont want to do that.
In this instance, we will have to ask the Gold Coast bowlers to make a choice and hope they dont get too upset.
We really regret this but we have worked very hard on dates over the last few days.

Yo Andrew is this roll off for the brisbane association side?

No the Brisbane roll-off is something being organised by State Office.
The Brisbane Area roll-off for their Challenge Team is on Feb 15th and is organised by BATBA
