Some good scores there guys & girls. Keep up the good work and have fun. I've been to the bowling centre you're bowling at and I thought it was an awesome centre when I had a holiday in Orlando in 2005. Enjoy Disney World if you get a chance to go. Good luck guys.. :)

Hi all from Orlando.

Sorry for the late reply or should that be early. Just about ready to go to the bowl for teams. Its 7.45 am Orlando time and hot very hot.

Guy and girls bowled well in Doubles. Its a very hot field and for Ben and Stephen to get a top 10 finish is a great performance (8th ) Jimmy and Porto started a little slow but soon found a line and threw great shots. Like a lot of these things if you carry you score. Hightlight of the day was Benny convertng the 7-10 split in game 2. (his first i beleive) To say it bought the house down is an understatement.

The guys are having a great time geling like all Aussie teams do. Gettnig on well and leaving a great legacy for those to follow. Must say its been a lot of fun. There is so much to do and see in Orlando and they have seen a lot of it. Oh well the bus is waiting so im off to the bowl. Hopefuly today we might see a mdeal or 2. Sorry make that tomorow. Teams is bowled over 2 days.

Ciao from Orlando

Phil

Hi all from Orlando

was a great day for Australia today. The girls had a good day that ended great comnig within 10 pins of the single game record. around 910. Keri-anne shot a nice 277 i think (it was a while ago and a few beers lol ) the boys were great fighting right to the end. Jimmy had the front 9 in the last game before a big split upset the appel cart. Overall was a fighting effort from the guys and girls. Dont worry about support for Bee because we will all be there screaming loud. Im sure she will hear all the cheers from home.

Oh well thats it from me for today will post for the last time tomorow before we spend a few days touring before heading home.

Ciao from Orlando

Philby

What an experience I have had in Orlando!

We have just wrapped up the World Youth Championships in Orlando Florida USA.

I have watched the best Youth bowlers in the world do what they know best ... bowl.

58 countries were represented over the week and with 329 bowlers from all over the world showing their talents I was blown away. I witnessed moments I will treasure forever. Strikes and spares that you would not believe. All this in an 80 lane centre ... well as they say ‘only in America’. It was really weird when your lane changes go from 12 to 24 and then 64.

And talk about team spirit ... the bond that those teams had were just magic and there was no ‘i’ in any of those teams I watched. And with all the troubles in the world today, you see each of these 58 nationalities blend and get along and form friendships where even the language barrier was no problem.

The Australian team proved they were our best and given that they only had 6 weeks to prepare they were no less ready had they had 6 months preparation time. They were totally committed and determined and rejoiced in their good shots and learnt from their bad ones. Their spirits never died and they always maintained their dignity.

The Aussies have left their mark internationally but the world already knew how good we Aussie bowlers were thanks to the likes of Cara, Belmo and many many others.

I hope that we all inspire all juniors, youth, adults and seniors to see out their goals whether they be reaching a new personal best or even representing their country one day. I now know that there really is a future for this Sport and I will remain positive and committed in my support of Tenpin Bowling.

I’d like to thank all those people that have been watching for results and most especially for the support the team received in getting over here. You will not be forgotten but more importantly you should not forget that you were responsible for helping 8 bowlers see out their dreams and ensuring that Australia was part of the World of Tenpin Bowling.

Something I did forget to mention was the one thing in particular the Worlds will remember most about the Aussies and that would be our chant from the supporters. We even had other supporters and teams joining in on a chorus of 'Aussie Aussie Aussie Oi Oi Oi'.

Hi all

Just sitting in the lobby of the hotel just finished breakfast. The kids are still asleep i think. What a life lol. But they do deserve a sleepin. The last few months have been so hectic with rolloffs and fundraising but to say it was worth it is an understatement. Dozzas words best express how things went while we were here. To watch in awe, the best youth bowlers in the world perform on the world stage was breathtaking.

Australia with its limited preparation performed outstandingly. The girls went within 9 pins of the one game record in the last game of teams. The guys finishing 6th in a field that includes 26 teams that do nothing but bowl (professional is not entirely accurate but very close) So that was an outstanding effort.

I will take away memories that willl last a lifetime. The sportsmanship and compassion shown has been outstanding.

I must give a special mention to a bowler from Porteo Rico (i hope i spelt that right) cant remember his name sorry. During doubles on tuesday he threw a foul that didnt register. Now he could have just walked back becasue nobody would have noticed it was just over the line. He called it on himself. This might explain what this event was like. Simply outstanding.

Well the kids are heading home today to cold old australia. To everybody who committed money and effort to get them here your efforts were rewarded in spades.

Ciao for the last time.
