Hans Karlsson, press officer of the Swedish Bowling Federation reports that multiple World and European champion Tomas Leandersson and American globetrotter Tim Mack will be on the Swedish national team for the 2008 Men's World Championships in Thailand in August.

When Tomas Leandersson took over the position as national team coach in Sweden 18 months ago, he retired as a player for the national team to which he belonged since 1988.

However, Swedish Bowling Federation's elite committee convinced Leandersson to lace up his bowling shoes once again for the men's Worlds to be held at SF Strike Bowl Ngamwongwan in Nonthaburi, Thailand from August 20-31.

"The committee believes that Tomas is needed as a player in our team. That is why was asked him to consider that possibility", said Sten-Åke Nilsson, chairman of the committee.

According to Karlsson, the decision to come back was not easy for Leandersson. "At the beginning I didn't even consider making a comeback as a player. But now I hope it will be the best decision for Sweden and … it is only for this championship", Leandersson said. The Swedish Bowling Federation also announced that former world triuos champion and multiple international champion Tim Mack, United States, will serve as assistant coach for Swedish national team during the Men's World Championships.

"None of our players has ever been in Bangkok. Tim has participated in many tournaments in the bowling center where the championship will be played. He has a lot of experience from competing in Asia. All that will benefit our team", said Leandersson.

The Swedish national team will consist of the following players:
Robert Andersson, Dennis Eklund, Tobias Karlsson, Martin Larsen, Tomas Leandersson and Peter Ljung.
