Scoring

It's been age's since I bowled for a league and i'm rusty on my scoring. Was wondering if someone would help me out and explain how I go about doing the score sheet working out how many points each team gets. Thanks

Gday, and welcome to totalbowling.

Im not quite sure what ur asking exactly, but i hope this helps

10 frames per game
top score available-300

spares add the next 1 delivery to your frames score..... eg

frame 1:9/, 2:9/, 3:9-
19, 38, 47

strikes add the next 2 deliveries to your frames score... eg:

frame 1:X, 72, X, X, 9-
19, 27, 56, 75, 84

When you are reffering to league scoring systems, there are soooo many different methods, dependant on your constitution and the amount of bowlers per team.

Good luck and Welcome back to the game!!!

As big Tonx said.

There are many differen scoring systems and the easiest way to learn is to ask your league president what system you are using and/or ask them to explain and show you how to use it.

Thanks for the great advice. What I was worried about was say if the team we are scheduled to play against next week pre-bowled and I have to do the scoring on the score sheet. I know to add my scores and my other 2 team mate's scores but how do I go about filling the rest of the sheet out to see who get's the 5 points (i think it's 5 points) for each game played as we play 3 games in our league and have teams of 3.

If you have 3 bowlers in your team, Max points your team can win is 4 per game. 1 for each Bowler, and then the overall. Then when your last game finishes, one team also get an additional point for the higher total pinfall after all 3 games.

So with a team of 3 people and you play 3 games, max points your team can win is 13. Does that make sense to everyone else as well as Telstra Chick. Please correct me if I am wrong.

P.s. and i work at the bowling alley....so hopefully i know :(

Well thats how we do it. :D

Hope it helps

As Tonx said it all depends on your league constitution, there may also be extra points added for achieving average or maybe your league does not bowl head to head and it's just overall game and series points up for grabs. Consult a leauge exec. (Secretary or President) and ask for a copy of the league constitution.

Regards
Graeme

Thanks again everyone. I just came back from bowling tonight and my team won all 3 games giving us 15 points out of 19. With each game we won we got 4 points out of 5. I'm still a bit confused. With how they do the scoring.

hey megs what is your surname do you bowl at sunshine now just seeing if i no you
....

I won't give out my surname over the net for personal reasons but I do bowl in the Gremlins League every Tuesday night at Sunshine and my team name are the Threesome's.
