For all those people who have this can they provide some details for the rest of us please. I have seen comments in other threads about this website.

PBA Stikepass

Are you able to save the files?
Do you need any special programs?
Do you need realone to play?
Do you have to purchase the software to save or is free versions availabe?
If you save the files to your PC as per a normal mpeg/avi can these transferred to DVD / CD?
Is the quality OK to be saved to DVD, does not have like a real DVD but good enough to watch without it being annoying?

Hope those with this can help, as would love to get hold of some of this stuff, and put into my collection, but on DVD, not kept on the PC.

Thanks heaps

Lance Dyer

Hey lance,

Are you able to save the files? You can, but theres a trick to it, so to your average surfer, no you cant
Do you need any special programs? just real player
Do you need realone to play? it looks better, but just real player
Do you have to purchase the software to save or is free versions availabe?no other purchases

If youfind out how to save them. they will make a fine dvd, strikepass is awesome, ive had it for 3 -4 months i think, and loving it

Ducati, how about sharing the "trick" with all of us, and let us average surfers have a go.

Some bowlers can count over 10 you know, even us old ones.

:p

My trick is to run my VCR as a second monitor, and then direct the VCR back into my computer through my TV capture card.

Works for me.

Androo,

What did the TV capture card you.

Do you think you could run a DVD recorder in the same method as you do with the VCR?

Not sure how all this works, but would be willing to find out, to be able to record the events.

If l'm downloading this much stuff, l want to be able to keep it, without having to increase my hard disk....

Thanks

Lance

I can't why the DVD recorder wouldn't work.

I'd try it... if I had one, but I don't think I will run through my 600gb of HD space very soon ;)

I have been advised, of this link for a Real recorder.

www.wmrecorder.com/

Have not had the chance to test it, but l know a couple of people who are going to try it. Once l get some advise or the chance to test, l will let you.

Androo,

I hope l never need that much space. Just download everything to VCD/DVD/CD, and keep it that way.

Can anyone answer this question. Now l am sure you can. The other streaming stuff l have seen is all small size, in its picture on the screen. Is the stuff from PBA Strikepass full screen size, to ensure that when it is saved to DVD it is of reasonable quality.

wmrecorder DOES NOT work.... as the files are protected. I tried this way first off, and failed.

The quality is ok. It is not DVD quality. Resolution is 320x240 (NTSC size). When shown full screen, it can look a little grainy, but it is still well and truely watchable.

I capture the tournaments through my capture card using a WMV codec. The size of each file (full tournament telecast roughly 1:15.00) is approx 180-190mb.

Beleive me, IT CAN be done, it just takes a little nutting out. :)

Have tried the WM Recorder tonight. Only the demo version, and was able to copy the match, well 2 minutes, as that is all the demo time allows you to copy. The download of the match is very slow though via this method. The buffering is greatly increased. Of the 2 minutes l spent recording, only 1 minute was actually recorded, in real time. Picyire was still the same, and looked OK when blown up to full screen size. Mind you only a little screen.

Will have to burn to DVD now and see how it comes out, on the TV.

Will wait and see the responses from a couple of friends who are getting the full version.

I know when l tried to use it it would not work, but just kept changing the settings, and then it started to record, and gave me picture. The file is saved in AVI format though :(

it is set to URL mode at the start, but l changed it to proxy mode.

It the read the URL address and it recorded.

I also played around with my firewall settings, to add this to the list of exceptions, allowing this device to conect to the internet.

If you follow the instructions, that part is included.

Make sure the file on the main screen say Proxy Mode, before the streaming video is started. Once started it will change names to that of thestreaming voideo.

Hope this helps. It was more luck than knowing what l was doing.. :p

I use a little programme called ucfrtc11 and it works a treat. You should just be able to do a google search for it to download it. Just paste the URL into it and away you go.
