Dick Weber tribute

Great tribute to a great man and bowler. I still have Dick Webers Guide to Better Bowling which is a great training video for new bowlers.

What a great tribute the the man himself. I had the pleasure meeting Dick Weber around 1979 I think, while on a tour with a few of Aussue bowlers, bowling on the Mid West regionals. We were at Dicks bowling centre in St Louis and in walked a young guy to help us with our bowling and that was Pete Weber. After getting coaching we were invited to Dicks place for a BBQ, what a down to earth guy he was. He showed us his trophy room, what a room that was. Three layers of cups all around the room. Pete and I shared a room together on the regional tour stops. What we got up to I can't tell you on this post. The knowledge he gave me was fantastic. I owe a lot to the Weber family for my success back home in Australia. Dick will always be in my thoughts.
Cheers Lovey

That's one person I would have loved to have met. Any of the oldtimers here remember this? - about the only piece of memorabilia I own:

I had the pleasure of meeting both Dick and Pete Webber back in 1999 (I think). It was in the Reno Flamingo Hilton Casino.

We spoke of the time in the late 1960's when Dick toured Australia. He said what a great time he had and actually asked about several of our early bowlers .. were they still playing etc. etc.

I remember Pete chipping in and sayimg he was also there, but was very young at the time and couldnt remember anything about it.

As I left them they presented me with a Storm bowling ball which I used for several years.

Really a great couple of guys....
