COULD THIS BE THE CORRECT APPROACH?

Well I have to admire the no nonsense approach in the following piece from Softball's Don Porter - but saying exactly what you feel about the IOC [in a negative senses] surely means certain death - at least where entry as a medal sport at some future time is concerned. Porter is close to 80 - so I guess he's had a gut full - but what he is asking is for the membership of the IOC to bite the very hand that feeds them - to turn the Executive recommendation against Softball and for Golf and Rugby 7's. Well Don Porter is either utterly naive [which I doubt] or smarter than anyone gives him credit for - that is if he get's what he want's..the outcome will be very interesting.

Don Porter is not allowing himself to be discouraged by the IOC Executive Board’s decision not to propose softball for re-adoption as an Olympic sport in 2016 and apparently is hoping that the majority of members of the IOC in October in Copenhagen will not follow the proposal to include golf
and rugby in the program. “This isn’t the end of the matter. We have a lot of support around the world. It is my hope that the 105 members that make up the IOC will make it clear that they are dissatisfied with the
limited recommendation”, the President of the International Softball Federation told The Tampa Tribune.
“For Rogge and the Executive Board to recommend two sports, seemingly based on commercialism and a personal preference, is disturbing to me”, said Porter who had led a passionate campaign for softball to be
readopted after being excluded from London 2012 under rather irritating circumstances. ◄◄◄
