Police are appealing for public help to track down two men who assaulted a journalist live on television in Melbourne last night.
Channel Seven journalist Ben Davis was reporting on the Melbourne Storm's big victory over the Brisbane Broncos in a live cross to Brisbane television when he was attacked by two men, one wearing a Broncos jumper.
The incident happened at 6.20pm outside Olympic Park.
Police said a group of men appeared to have been involved in the assault. The Broncos supporter tackled Davis to the ground and another man struck him to in the head. The reporter suffered minor injuries.
The Broncos jumper wearer was white, in his early-to-mid 20s, about 180cms tall and with short dark hair.
The man who struck the reporter to the back of the head was wearing a blue T-shirt, had a shaved head, solid build and tattoos on his arms, He was aged about 30.
Police have released images of two men that police believe can assist them with their enquiries.
