Re: Belmonte leads tournament of champions

What..? A suburb of Newcastle is leading...? Remarkable! :p

Auto-correct has a lot to answer for somedays...

Back on topic, what an amazing story.
Rash Leads Sunday

With Fagan on the show the POY is far from locked up as yet, let's hope Belmo can bowl 2 great matches on tv and win th TOC and the POY

Either way this season has been amazing for him. The biggest trophie still to come from home. What ever happens he has done himself proud and hope that he makes it home in time to be by the better halfs side.

Re: Belmonte leads tournament of champions

Alas, it was not to be. A tricky lane made things tough for Jason and Ryan Ciminelli was too much of a handful in the semi-final. Sean Rash ended up defeating Ciminelli for the title, breaking his string of TV woes.

Well done Belmo and Godspeed, be safe on the drive home.

According to the PBA site, Rash was points leader prior to the TOC due to 11 top 10 finisges from 14 tournaments...So i guess he won it.

I don't think they've announce the winner yet. From my understanding, the players have a vote on it.

Re: Belmonte leads tournament of champions

They ran it on points once or twice. I think the players wanted their say back. It used to work in a system where the PBA compiled a list of statistics for the top lotsa players (I forget how many now) and they mailed that sheet out to all members with a voting slip. I imagine it's still similar to that. Pretty sure they vote for the Steve Nagy sportsman award at the same time.

While there are arguments each way and the system isn't perfect, it's a tremendous honour to be chosen not only on your performance, but by your peers. (Kinda settles a lot of arguments via peer pressure too.)

Re: Belmonte leads tournament of champions

Sorry ralph, was wrong, other guys right. Wonder if Rash & Belmo will be voting for each other.
Be interesting vote. Belmo dominated WSOP. Rash led all the lists. Averages, Money, etc 11 top 10 finishes
from 14 tournaments.
