AUSSIE BOWLING CHAMPION INSPIRES UNIQUE GAMING INITIATIVE

With hundreds of thousands of fans around the globe, and hailed as best bowler in the world it’s hardly surprising that Jason Belmonte’s latest venture into the world of virtual reality has created a stir of excitement.

And more than a stir … the Aussie champion is no stranger to breaking down barriers and blasting stereotypes. His powerful ‘footy-pass’ technique has achieved stunning success, universal admiration and a hoard of young players keen to emulate his revolutionary two-handed style of bowling.

Success on the lanes saw Belmo’s fame spread quickly, with a swag of national and international titles and named ROOKIE OF THE YEAR in 2009 after making his professional debut on the PBA Tour in the USA. Belmonte re-wrote the sport’s history books, becoming the first bowler in the 64-year history of the USBC Masters to win the event three consecutive times, and ultimately further accolades as 2013, 2014, 2015 PBA PLAYER OF THE YEAR.

Along the way, he’s also collected three highly coveted ESPY Awards, sharing the spotlight with sporting stars including LeBron James, Serena Williams, Stephen Curry and Ronda Rousey in glittering ceremonies televised by the world’s largest sports network, ESPN, to a huge international audience.

Collaboration with the crew from Dude Perfect to produce Bowling Trick Shots has resulted in one of its most watched YouTube clips ever recorded, with over 50 million hits since its release - www.youtube.com/watch?feature=player_embedded&v=CACAmH4r1fw

But the lure of a gaming version of the sport Belmonte loves has resulted in a sensational ‘first’ for Australian gamers. Belmonte decided to launch the game in his home country and right now it’s available only in Australia, with a worldwide release that will also include an Android version expected before the year’s end.

“I wanted to create a bowling game that was as realistic as possible. Bowling has so much more to offer than just knocking over pins and in this game you'll discover all the subtleties that are often overlooked.” Belmonte explains.

The development team did everything to ensure that the game was as close to reality as possible. The gameplay is based on real balls from the best manufacturers, which can be drilled, repaired and their surface parameters modified. The lane is designed according to exact parameters, in full compliance with the standards of the World Bowling organisation.

The game features a range of different virtual oil patterns that are used, with more being added in further updates, that are true world standard oil patterns. All this combines into a unique physical model that uses all the parameters of the ball, lane and deliveries to make the game indistinguishable from real bowling.

“I not only want you to enjoy playing the game, I want it to help you better understand bowling in its truest form,” he continues. “I could spend all day talking about all the different goodies that we have prepared for you in our game, the different styles of throws, online matches and tournaments etc, but there should at least be something that remains a surprise, right?” Belmonte adds with a grin.

Billed as the most realistic bowling game ever made, BOWLING by Jason Belmonte is compatible with iPhone, iPad, and iPod touch and is available for download for FREE via iTunes App Store.
