Led by Singles bronze medalist Mads Sandbaekken, Norwegians Martin Olsen, Glenn Morten Pederson and Jahn Kare Haugen posted a 2506 three-game total, a 208,83 average, on the short oil pattern to lead the Boys Team event at the 9th World Youth Championships 2006 at halftime.

Sandbaekken contributed a 702-series and was the sole player, who cracked the 700-bar. The Norwegians (809, 893, 804) were one of just two teams that rolled three 800-plus games on the first day of the team event.

The other team that accomplished the feat was Australia. Led by two-time World Youth Champion Jason Belmonte (680), Glen Loader, Stephen Cowland and Michael Zentveld posted games of 803, 819 and 848 to overtake the second position with 2470 pinfall total and an average of 205,83.

Third place belonged to Sweden, traditionally a heavyweight when it comes to team events. The men's team is the defending champion at the inaugural Men's World Championships in Korea next month. The youth team with Peter Nordensson, Marcus Bernd, Pontus Halvarsson and Mikael Kanold, who won the Dutch Open 2006, a European Bowling Tour event, averaged 198,08 and felled 2377 pins.

Fourth place belonged to coach William Woo's team from Singapore. Derek Chan, Jason Jeong Nathan, Carl Jan de Vries and Justin Teng checked in with 2375 (197,92), mere two pins off the top 3.

Qatar's Mohammed Al Mannai, Ahmed Al Kuwari, Hamad Al Mosalam and Fahad Al Emadi target to follow in the footsteps of 2003 World Champion (Masters) Ahmed Shaheen. The Qatari sit in fifth place with 2351 (195,92).

Coached by Belgian standout Gery Verbruggen, Team Belgium with Wim Claessens, Glenn Vansteenbrugge, Gaetano Curcuracci and Michael Coussens positioned themselves in sixth place with 2346 (195,50).

The top 16 players in All Events will advance to the Masters finals on Saturday.

i have 2 questions:
1) What countries are participating in this event?
2) Why Belmo doesnt join the PBA? i know traveling around the world is fun, but its stressful as well
