Aileen was an inaugural member of A.T.B.S.O. W.A. She was a member of the first team to compete for WA, and was the inaugural Masters winner. Aileen reigned as President of A.T.B.S.O.W.A. for many years where her dedication, committment and guiding force helped bring us to where we are today. Aileen was also involved with the National committee in the early years, utilising her skills she developed of many years of bowling and being involved with the Rockingham-Mandurah Tenpin Bowling Association. Aileen was a long standing and well respected member of the "Classic Doubles" and "Late Night LIne Up" leagues.
This tournament is to honour her memory, reminisce over her achievements but above all, simply facilitate a tournament where sportshmanship and just enjoying another bowlers company for the fun we receive from it.
For those of us who knew her personally our lives have certainly been enriched by her presence, for those who did not - she was an extraordinary woman doing extraordinary things and all she did was to touch us with her passion, speak to us as if we were the most important person in the world, and dedicate herself to others.
This is an open tournament and bowlers of all ages, and averages are most welcome to join us at Rockingham Bowl, to remember a wonderful lady and enjoy a day of bowling.
