ball for begin-again-er

hi just seeing what you guys would recommend for someone who is getting into bowling again, has had a 160 average, always used "house balls". i'm sick of trying to use balls that don't fit, hurt my fingers etc, etc.

i had the awesome chance to have a few throws of a ball that actually fit and has some movement in it, after the initial "omg this is soo cool, i think i just wet myself" moment it was obvious that i would like a reactive ball to throw around. i am currently teaching myself to make the house ball i use move ( which it will happily do with the right lane conditions LOL ) its a 12lb rock with ill fitting finger holes but hey if you can make it work why not hahaha.

so bottom line:- (i think) i want a reactive 12lb ball and that is pretty much as far as my knowledge of balls goes and i don't want to make the mistake of "it -looked awesome -name sounded cool -you just bought a p.o.s shaped like a bowling ball"

Just ask your proshop for entry level reactive balls. Some of them I can name are:
AMF Angle (red/blue pearl or red/silver pearl)
AMF Orbit Xtreme
Brunswick Power Groove
Columbia 300 Scout
Columbia 300 Jazz
Ebonite Tornado
Hammer Rayzr
Storm Tropical Storm (each colour has a different fragence)

a while ago i got a storm x-factor ace, it was meant to smell of winter-fresh or something. It didn't, smelt like a combination of licorice and ass :p

sweet that list will be a good place to start :) now i'm off to learn about them

Ben i've thrown both the Ebonite Tornado and the Columbia Scout. Both in my ball line up at the moment. And i'm about to buy the New Columbia Jazz this weekend.

I know the Tornado and the Scout well, and in my opinion the Tornado moves alot more than the Scout, but the Scout hits harder. Yet to see about the Jazz.

If you get onto youtube and type in BuddiesproShop - (insert ball name here) you can usually see a demo of some of these balls. Keep in mind there are alot of variants such as ball speed, revs, and lane conditions. But if I were you and only just starting out with the ol' Hook ball, the Scout would be my pick.

Hope it helps. :D

I know how that feels lol

I've got ADSL2+ and that's warp speed when running normally but when it gets capped, it's as fast as an old granny walking up a steep hill :p
