2013 Bcr8ive Media Gold Coast Tenpin Cup

Hi.

As most of you may be aware, the Gold Coast has not had a premier tenpin tournament for several years since the Ebonite International at Surfers Paradise. Now, we are back! The inaugural Gold Coast Tenpin Cup, proudly sponsored by Bcr8ive Media will be held at AMF Robina from August 16th to 18th 2013. This tournament will have a prize fund worth more than $12000 (based on 72 entries) along with a unique multiple entry option at a discounted price. This centre is a fantastic 24 lane facility with state of the art equipment, plenty of accommodation in the immediate area and the airport less than 20 minutes away at Coolangatta.

We would like to invite all bowlers from all over Australia to attend what will be a great event and will comprise of a unique first with an app for the tournament available for Apple mobiles and will provide live scoring right throughout the tournament and many other features which will be released soon.

We are really wanting to put bowling at the top of the pile on the Gold Coast and will be providing media releases and seeking extensive coverage through all media, print, TV and social.

Entry form will be released shortly with TBA accreditation number and plenty more releases and updates leading up to the event will be coming soon. Please feel free to put your name down.

Entry Fee $230 with multiple entry option of $100

Format.

Qualifying. All bowlers to bowl 10 games scratch pinfall. Lane change every 2 games. Odd lanes move 2 pair to left. Even lanes move 2 pair right.

Finals Round 1. The top 24 bowlers to bowl 6 games scratch pinfall. Qualifying pinfall to be carried over. Lane changes as per qualifying. Odd lanes move 2 pair left. Even lanes move 2 pair right.

Finals Round 2. The top 15 bowlers on scratch pinfall after Round 1 will progress to match play consisting of 7 games, 3 way match play. Bonus pins applied will be 40 pins for 1st, 20 pins for 2nd and 0 pins for 3rd place each match.

The top 3 at the completion of this round will proceed to a stepladder final with 3rd place to bowl 2nd place and the winner to meet 1st place after round 2 in the title match. All pinfall from the bonus pins and games will determine the final 3 bowler placings for the stepladder finals.

The winner of the title match will be declared the inaugural 2013 Bcr8ive Media Gold Coast Tenpin Cup champion and will receive free entry into the 2014 tournament.

Schedule.

Squad times will be as follows:

Qualifying. Bowling 10 games. 2 bowlers to a pair.

Friday August 16th. Squad A. 6:00pm check-in. 32 bowlers maximum.
Saturday August 17th. Squad B. 7:30am check-in. 32 bowlers maximum.
Saturday August 17th. Squad C. 12:30pm check-in. 32 bowlers maximum.
Saturday August 17th. Squad D. 5:30pm check-in. 32 bowlers maximum.
Finals Round 1. Top 24 Bowling 6 games. 2 bowlers to a pair. Check-in 8:00am
Finals Round 2. Top 15 Bowling 7 games, 3 way match play.
Check-in immediately after results posted and to commence after conditioning of lanes.
Stepladder to commence immediately following match play and conditioning of lanes.

Tournament Rules & Conditions

· This is a scratch event open to all TBA registered bowlers. All games are bowled in accordance with TBA rules& regulations. TBA membership cards will be requested at check-in.

· Dress code. Collared or bowling shirts only for both men & women. Men and women will be allowed to wear dress shorts. Jeans, track pants & tights will not be acceptable attire.

· Smoking, alcohol and use of mobile phones will not be permitted whilst competing.

· The tournament directors reserve the right to scrutinize any equipment at any time. Any non-sanctioned equipment or equipment to be found non-compliant or in breach of TBA rules and regulations by any bowler, will result in instant disqualification and no claim to any prize money.

· Re-entry option will be available and the tournament directors must be notified within 10 minutes prior to check-in time for the squad commencing and a vacancy in the nominated squad must be available. Maximum re-entry is not limited but is only available based on squad availability.

· Ties. In the result of any ties for qualifying or Finals Round 1, the highest last game will decide the highest position. At the end of Round 2 match play, if any ties, a 1 game play off will decide the highest position. If a tie in either stepladder match occurs, a 1 game play off will take place to determine a winner. If still tied, a 10th frame playoff will be used to break any further tie.

· Any bowler to not check-in for any Final rounds on time will be replaced by the first available place getter, eg top 24, if 1 person fails to check-in then 25th place will be offered a spot to progress and so on until place is filled.


Any other matters not covered above, will be determined by the tournament directors whose decision will be final.

Matt there are 2 great Golf Courses just minutes from the bowl :p

Great tournament, only problem is the World Championships are on at the same time so there is a few of us that probably would have attended that can't come.

Yeah it was very hard to find a date to fit it in between other events in QLD and everywhere else. I understand we will miss out of few bowlers who would of like to attend but no matter what date we pick we were always going to be going up something else.

So fingers cross we can still have a great turn out and show case the gold coast as what we can do.

Hi Doug,

I would have made the trip up to but the date clashes with SA Youth which is a nationally ranked event... You may miss out on a few entries there as well...
