Tiger, thanks for posting results for the Classic. Whilst I waffled on a bit during the presentations I would like to put in print some of the things that I said (or left unsaid).

Firstly my congratulations to Ashley and Joel for giving us an amazing final, well done both of you and a well deserved win Ash.

Also to young Dimitri, very proud of you mate, it is the best that I have seen you bowl, even when you lost it in game 5 Saturday, you came back and held it together - well done!

As mentioned today, Paul and myself are very proud of this tournament, but to be fair, without Pauls input from the very start and the amount of work he puts in, there would not be a VIP Classic. Thanks very much PO you make me look okay!

No worries Col ;)
Was a great weekend of bowling and very well run and organised.
Was great to see the youngsters out there and really showing their stuff too.

Just had a thought! Maybe we could all chip in and sponsor the bowl for a new

before the Hobart Cup next month

Congratulations Ash you are a true champion, who thoroughly deserves every success and accolade that comes your way it's just a pity the Blues couldn't get up for you!!!!

Congratulations to Ashley and Dimitri and to all those associated with the running of the 2006 VIP Tournament, I popped in yesterday, but was unable to attend today. Excellent roll up and hopefully next year I will be able to join in. Once again, well done everyone and keep up the good work.

congrats to ash on a very fine win, probable the best i have seen you bowl against such a talented bowler, joel bad luck mate you bowled great, definately the most promsiing youth bowler we have coming through and will be name in australian bowling if you chose to be, but with that said there are also many other bright young bowlers coming through and show cased yourself well throughout the weekend.

thanks to scully paul julie and all the sponsors. this definately is the highlight tournement on the tasmanian calander. it would be great to see some more mainland talent coming down for such a great tournement.
well done guys and gals, i hope it only grows bigger

Firstly, I would like to congratulate Ash and Dimi on their fine wins. The final between Ash and Joel, was one of the best matches I have seen. The quality of the bowling was equal to anything in this country.

To Colin, Paul and Julie, you guys are legends. The smoothest running tournament I have ever bowled in. A BIG thankyou to all the sponsors that helped play a part in making this tournament possible. And a big thankyou to Colin, Julie, Chris and Pepper for putting up with Max and myself last night over dinner and a few drinks. Was a great night.

The way this event has grown over the past few years, it can only get better. It's great to have a multi-day event, which in Tasmania, we don't get many at all. Thanks to everyone that made it possible.

Congrats to Ash on a fine win. You truly are a champion! Joel you did a fantastic job to come as close as you did. You dont know me, but i saw you bowl at teams challenge in Lonnie last month, you honestly have the making of one of australias best! Keep up the good work. The results will speak for themselves in the future. Best of luck!

I wasn't there in person this weekend, but i was up the back in spirit ;)

Paul and Co, you have done a wonderful job with this tournament. If only other states could come up with such great turnouts for their tournys.

Max, Bowling Balls Australia, Andrew, Not that i need to tell anyone, but these blokes/company, bloody AWESOME!

Anyway, CONGRATS to all that bowled over the weekend. I'm sure you all gave it your best :)

I will see some of y'all in 2 weeks for State.
Martina

I would like to say congrats to my Beautiful boy Ash on a very well deserved win. His bowling since Aus masters has been outstanding, it's nice to see the old ash back bowling better then ever. Your one true champ baby.

To Joel congrats your bowling on the weekend was great, wish i could bowl like that after a years break, well done.

Dimi, you bowled very well all weekend well done. Deserved your win.

I would also like to say well done to Debbie who was the only Female to bowl scratch and to finish 10th that was great, and also was not feeling the best.

To Colin, Juile and Paul thank you for all the work you put into the running of the Tournament, was a great tournament to bowl in, well done.

WOW - what a tournament.

Firstly - big congratulations to Ash for winning the event. Tremendous bowling all weekend, great game in the final, but it had to be. Joel's game would have just about won any other event in the country, in itself a fantastic effort. To the other finalists, you may not have won the event, but you certainly put on a show - it was great to watch.

Young Dimi - came of age as a bowler on the weekend. Consistent high scoring Saturday and Sunday morning and held his nerve in the final. I am sure there is much more success to come. The really good thing to see was the number of younger players who bowled extremely well and made the cut, well done in particular to Ashtyn and Gyan.

The organisation of the tournament - the way this tournament was run should be the model for all tournaments Australia-wide. The precision with which it was done, you could run any size tournament, anywhere. Oaky, Colin & Julie - I take my hat off to you. You have proved worthy of every bit of support you get, both from the players and sponsors, to the point where we will double our support to you next year & I for one will certainly be back.

To the people of Moonah, Hobart & Tasmania - what can I say????? I have never been made feel more welcome anywhere in my life. I most humbly thank you for the way you have accepted me into your world, both bowling wise and personally. Thank you also most sincerely for the way you have accepted and supported Bowling Balls Australia at Moonah.

Lastly - Androo. Mate, you are a legend. Your support over the past 12 months or so, the way you run our little enterprise down there and the way you help me out when I am down there.......... Most people know what we are about now, the right people in the right places......and I know with all my heart we have that with you. To have a dozen or more people crowded into our pro shop just wanting to be around you...........nothing more need be said.

Once again, congratulations to all, & thanks to all. I can't wait to get down there again.

Regards......Max

Firstly I would like to thank all bowlers who entred the 2006 V.I.P Classic on the weekend the turn out was the biggest we have had in the 3 years of running this tournament and some of the scores poeple were shooting made it very interesting to watch.

Congratulations to Ashley and Dimitri on your wins outstanding bowling by both of you.

To Chris congratulations on your first 300 its been coming for a while now and well deserved (congrats on your 2nd 300 too)

To our sponsors i thank you all without your support and commitment to this tournament it would not be one of Tasmania's biggest events on the tournament calander.

To Julie i thank you alot if it wasn't for your help and your computer knowledge over the weekend i think i would still be trying to punch the scores in.

The biggest thanks of all must go to Colin Sculthorpe without this man we would not have a tournament and most of its sponsors.

3 years ago this man come to me and said if i give you a few dollars sponsorship do you think we could run a tournament who would of thought 3 years on we would give out over $5000 along with 3 bowling balls and all thanks to this bloke. Thanks once again Colin

2007 looks set to be bigger again with Scott from Roberts Don Mac announcing a further $500 to make it $1500 for next year and Max from Bowling Balls Australia also doubling his support.

Thanks again all Paul
