Under 21 tournie - GUARANTEED $1000 1st place male & fe

Hey Everybody!!
Just a couple things I want to ask your opinions on... Hope you's will help.

As a junior myself, I've noticed that there isn't all that many tournaments on for juniors/under 21's, after sydney cup (october).. Those of you's who know me, know my parents own Garden City Lanes in Toowoomba. So i decided to ask the management and tournament commitee to hold a tournament for the younger people in approximately mid november (although im not quite sure of the date)..

This tournie, would have a guaranteed first place prize for both a males and a females division of $1000. Following placings prize money depending on entries. Costing approximately $140- $150 entry, it will consist of 12 games of qualifying on the saturday (which will be open to two squads), and onto matchplay and then a step ladder final on the sunday. This tournament will be known as Garden City Lanes Coming Of Age which will be an open under 21 tournament..

To help those who may be travelling we may get discounted accomadation, all this still depends on numbers. I think it would be great!! Just wondering though if any one knows of any other tournament that may clash with dates and just who may be interested. Hopefully this will go ahead.

Sounds like a promising Tournament. Hope you can get the Sponsorship needed for it to go ahead.
Personally i think its great to see the all these Youth Tournies coming up. I wish that i couldve bowled more but due to soccer on a sundays ive been restricted so far(no more next year ) But as least people are starting to take action to help our struggling bowling world. So a big WELL DONE to hayles just for, one, the thought of it, and 2, for taking the APPROPRIATE action. Hope it all goes well and ill be bowling in Garden City come November!

That is awesome that you have managed to get something like this going, well done I would love to go, but my Uni exams are on around that time, so it may not be possible for another 2 years yet :? But if Uni exams and cricket don't clash, I'll most probabaly be there.

hey, this is great to hear, I will be there for sure. And i must say it is good to see decent Youth Tournaments being held out of NSW and VIC. Queensland needs to start more tournaments like this and build them into traditions like Sydney Cup. It will be good to see some interstate bowlers in Queensland.

At the moment, without checking if i have any other tournies, i would probably say i would be there for sure. I would definately bowl if Sharp (which was in Mid-October last year) didnt go ahead. Considering that is youth, i would have to see if that was going ahead and then choose, or maybe bowl both. A GREAT idea though! Im sure everyone that could would support it.
