State Tenpin Bowling league - Chester Hill Cougars are victorious 2 years running.
Chester Hill Cougars have once again taken out the State Premiership title in tenpin bowling. The team consisting of Steve Lenton, Matt Riley, Samantha Turvey, Marc Triulcio, Matthew Cannone, Matt Sing and Wayne Beesley took on the Campbelltown Crocs in a final that promised to be very intense. The Cougars started the singles block steadily finishing behind by 1 point, then kicked into second gear and won the doubles block by 14 points going into the teams event knowing they would have to fight for every point. It came down to the last game of teams and the Cougars then proved to be worthy opponents by staying composed whilst under growing pressure to stay ahead. The Cougars needed to call on their combined tournament experience and team spirit to win the match 65.5 to 48.5.
Matt Riley averaging 235 for the day, was way ahead of the field, a true asset to the Cougar squad. Well done Cougars taking out the title second year running.
We would like to thank the rest of the Cougar squad who helped the team get to the championship game. Jp Li, Kevin Brett, Mark Lane, and Ron Bickerstaff.
The final standings for the competition are; Chester Hill Cougars, Campbelltown Crocs, Orange Western Warriors (our sister centre), Gosford Tornadoes, Bateau Bay Thunder, Liverpool Troopers and Wetherill Park Red Devils.
