HI all,

I have created an Excel Spreadsheet, keeping track of all of my scores. I have attached it, you can modify it to suit yourself or use it as a template.

This is an interesting idea.
If one was to go about creating an application such as this, what information would bowlers out there want to store? How would "you" design the interface (GUI)? What platform/platforms (web, windows application, pocket PC, smartphone ...) would you wish the application to run on? What type of reports/output would you want? What type of side information would be good to incorporate (bowling tips, FAQ's, coaching tips ...)?

Constructive suggestions would be welcome. If you wish to post information via email (eg. answers to above questions, questions to me, and schematics/drawings/application branching pictures of suggested User Interface design) you can contact me directly via tpdev@tpg.com.au.

thanks for the information guys,

i have been bowling for almost 20yrs, have a 195 ave at present, what i am after is like the spreadsheet, ie everygame you bowl u can add and it tallies it, thing is some of these programs have other features that might be usefull in the long run but some of the up and comming bowlers dont know anything about. all help is welcome

I think its a great tool for up & coming bowlers, if they record enough info, ie; what ball they used, what line they show, what oil pattern was used, etc, you can then easily identify areas that need attention. I am currently working more on my spreadsheet to include what ball I used & what line I shot. I would also like to incorparate other stats such as how many strike & spares per series. The touble is, using ecel to do this, you can end up with some pretty complex formulas. I'm gonna download that frames software demo & give that a go with my pda.

Amagill,
One other thing with the Frames software, once you actually purchase the software, you are then able to export the info into Excel. This takes over all the info from Frames, Ball used, Pattern, Target, Position, everything!! Once you use it I'm sure you'll find just how valuable it will become in your game. Not only a fantastic way to keep track of your bowling but an even better way to train.

Yes it's a link to a US site, no it doesn't cost a packet, around $50. If you have a Palm or a Pocket PC, it's the perfect way to keep track and show your coach or yourself where you need to put in the extra practice. It also allows you to download your games to a computer so you can print them out.

Hey guys, I just tried to download the above program and it didn't work :(
I have a HP iPAQ 2790, running Windows Mobile v5 - does anyone know any PPC programs I may be able to use to keep track of my games. I would be very keen to know if there is anything out on the market for me. I am willing to spend up to around $50USD for the correct software. Any ideas, please let me know.
thanks, JR

The demo runs fine on my hp rz1710

Looks promising i think ill buy the full version after christmas, only thing i cant work out is...it seems to only let you bowl your game on 1 lane, like if your bowling in league you cant have the program realise your playing on a PAIR of lanes

Yes, I know ...it seems to only not work on my unit - which is very frustrating. I've spoken to the company, and they believe nothing is wrong with the software, and I have spoken to HP and they believe there is nothing wrong with the units ....so I am stuck between a rock and a hard place. Oh well, I guess somethings are just not meant to be.
