Many thanks to Strathpine for hosting our Tour Stop ... 71 Balls with an entering average of 191 for all bowlers who then averaged 191 for their 10 games. The Puffs entering average was 179 (extremely hight for our Puffs) who then proceeded to average 179 for their 10 games. I guess we could say a 'very average' weekend. However, no complaints as there were some great games bowled - Eric Aarsse 300, Darrin Comrie 297, Zack Caldwell 287 (his personal best), Joe Gatt 284, Mike Sullivan 280, Darryl Purnell 279, John Whillans, Brett Flewellen and Brendan Meads 277. Jacinta Gilliland for the Puffs had the high game of 267.

A very well deserved win in the Balls Hcp. for Craig Watson who has done most of his competitive bowling in the Disability areas. His Scratch ave. of 199 put him 10 pins ahead of Aden Roffey and in 3rd place, Micheal Matthey, followed by Mitch Hennessey. Shaun Weaver, Damien Banar,Jeoff Betia and 2009 Bowler of the Year runner-up Darryl Purnell were among the loyal supporters to cash. AND the 'old and tried and true' Ricky Carlos, Mike Sullivan, John Whillans and Joe Gatt were a few $$$ richer.

A good win for Jacinta Brosnan in the Puffs Hcp. with Kylie Waddell, Leanne Warmington and Lynda Churchward overcoming some past disappointments for the 2nd,3rd and 4th placings. Rebekah Meads (222.1) posted a 10 pin win over sister Alicia with Jacinta Gilliland (218.6) and Faye Bottomley (207.0) all over the card and ever consistent Mel Acworth taking 5th Scratch (196.4) And that perennial bowler from Bundaberg, Bobby Noonen also cashed.

Andrew Christopher backed up his good performance at Logan City with a Scratch and Scratch Pool victory (228.7) from Brendan Meads (228.2) Proven performer in the Tour, Darrin Comrie with 224.6 and Brian Robinson
(223.4) had their usual good results.

There were some exciting personal bests - Zack Caldwell with his 287 (and he is only a young talent), Mitch Hennessey with 999 - 4 game block and of course, Eric Aarsse with his first 300 game. Vic Wilkins has 2 for 2 in the $100 for 300 games so far this year!

The Tour continues (in my humble opinion) to offer all ages and abilities a chance to cash and whilst the older bowlers still are great supporters of the Tour, the new youngsters are showing their mettle also. The Puffs with 35 bowlers continue to hold their own with the Balls - they need to !!! This weekend there were bowlers from Bundaberg, Gympie, Kingaroy, Sunshine Coast, Gold Coast, Tweed Heads and Toowoomba so thanks to those who travel for enjoyment and hopefully $$$.

Thanks again to the Team who do their job with enthusiasm each Tour Stop, to the Staff everywhere at Strathpine and especially for the great sale! Plenty of bargains were had.

Just thought I would post Prize Fund from Strathpine on the forum. Prize Fund is advertised on the Twin Tour brochure and in the centre on the day but actual payout depends on numbers bowling.

There were 71 Balls and 35 Puffs - Puffs making up half the Balls so payout reflects this with $3200 for Balls and $1610 for Puffs. Scratch Pool was $360 with Vic Wilkins 300 game payout $100 and Tamerett Awards (David Flewellen) of $50 for a total of $5320. Two bowling balls were also donated by Strathpine Hyperbowl for lucky draws. Thank you!

Sponsorship money (see a list of our great sponsors on our website - www.twintour.com.au, joining fees, lucky number and shirt profits help to keep the Tour on an even keel and many thanks also to the bowling centres for their considerable input.

Tegan Meads for the Puffs and Ronald Hine for the Balls - winners of the Lucky Draw outside the cash. Numbers drawn by Rocky! Sorry about lack of info regarding the balls donated by Strathpine Hyperbowl. No good to you anyway, Loobs, as they did not include 'Looby Carry'!
