Sorry George, but your new prize fund is not good at all. Tournament Bowling would die with that new prize list.

Prize funds need to be spread down the order and not too top heavy.

I like, and would prefer the one you've drawn up George, but I will have to agree with CSP. I'm not sure if the tournament would survive if you have it that top heavy.

George

In my opinion it would kill Tournament Bowling.

Not everyone is like you and can cut in every tournament. A majority just want the opportunity to bowl in a big tournament against some of the "names" and if they bowl ok they make some money back. These bowlers are the ones that help you bowl for $3000 first prize.

I think paying down so far is what is helping tournament bowling, not only nationally but also on a local scale. The Brisbane circuit has enjoyed greater numbers since we dropped the entry fee and started paying down further. If you want to go back to tournaments with 30 entries then im all for your idea :)

To be honest I really thought that was the case. I rather more tournament numbers, especially at a time where bowling is going through a difficult stage.

I'm all for paying further down and have seen the success of the totalbowling sports series and the AMF Brisbane circuit benefit from reduced entries and lower 1st place cheques.

It's great to see actually, just ask Frawls what sort of prizefunds we bowl on overseas. They are very top heavy and in our case we need to come in the top 5 to make any decent money.

Don't get me wrong, I just crunched some figures and wanted to give people a look at something from a different angle. there's nothing wrong with what we have now.
