Entries as at 15.3. stand at 37 women, 75 men. With a couple of transfers to Friday night and a couple of withdrawals, there are now 3 spots available for Sat. C Squad (6.00pm check in).
Friday night has 25 entries (a couple of whom are a bit 'iffy) so if you wish to bowl - get in NOW!!

Prize Fund for 110 bowlers - 75 men and 35 women has been increased by $2000 (Entry Fee only $170 for Men and $160 for Women) and is as follows:

Sorry have been unabel to clear the decks at work to come up. Would have licked to have had a go.

I am a little concerned at the new prizefund posted. I see that orginally on your entry form the payout was 1 in 2 (not noted as 1 in 2, but you had based on 60 / 30 entries - paying 30 / 15), l am sure that while the bowlers that cash will now get more money, and that is great, why was the rpizefund not extended to a degree of some form, as you added $2000.00 to the prizefund, and this is great, for Aussie bowling.

From all the posts the l have read on here about the great job you have done for tournament bowling in QLD, please dont take this the wrong way. It is just a question, and probably comes from a culture in Vic, where we pay further down, and not increase the prizefund, at the top. Thats All.

PS.

I would love to know your secret for getting sponsors, as l have put a post in the Vic section for the new tournament series, but the sponsorship side of things is where we are being let down, each and every time.

Yes, I understand your point of view - we agonized over it also - and decided to make certain that our 1:3 policy we use for the Twin Tour ensured that 25th place got their entry fee back with extra $$ below that place. Paying extra $$ to 30 places from 75 bowlers did seem quite reasonable to us - especially to those who travel - also, reward for achievement at this level seemed a good idea with the first cut to the Top 30 men. Paying 15 from 35 women is not too bad. Very difficult to put Prize Funds on show as the turnup can be very different from the projected - look at the women in Adelaide! Tuff to come up with the perfect answer - just like lane conditions - no one has the perfect answer!!

SPONSORS: Very tuff - all bowlers want BIG BUCKS - but they are the ones paying in reality - we have been fortunate in getting realistic game charges here in Qld. I think centres here would rather have 1700 games at ???? (cheap) than 0 games at $6.00 or whatever. Then you get some really loyal sponsors (Clean up with K & K, Big Girl's Don't Cry Anymore, Caboolture Bowl and lots of 'little' sponsors) and put on tourns. to attract bigger numbers to give some value for money for them....HARD!!!

I hope we achieve this at the K & K Classic !!!!!!!
