Not only does it look sexy, but this thing sounds amazing. Standing behind the machines while Tonx worked his magic, every ball hit with power and sounded solid and true.
 
The Immortal looks like it revs up hard and sure hits like a Mack truck!!
Good video footage, definitely worth the wait. Can't wait til I get mine in my hands.
 
Tonx... how much flare did you get with that drilling... and did it thump the weighthole?

The condition wasnt obviously the best to see this balls true hook potential.

Due to it being a pearl ball, its not designed to work on carry down all that well, expecially with the drilling that I have put on it (mostly a control drill because of this balls power, with midlane roll as opposed to super flip) however, as you can see with the video, it is quite versatile.

ET: Potential 5-7-10? pffft, this ball left 2 10 pins, and 1 7 pin in the entire session. As you can breifly see, I was in my work shirt (rushed to get these vids up!), so it didnt give me my movement throughout the shot to really see what this ball can do revved up! Only 2 people I know leave 5-7-10's, and they are both Tasmanians ;) Thanks for the feedback!

Sorry about the delay again guys, next time im going to tell Max to not promise videos straight away when im on the job. im hopeless with video gear, and it took me 20minutes JUST to work out how to get them onto the computer!

The only thing that I can personally suggest with this ball, is PLEASE have alot of faith in your ball driller. This ball is a ball that needs to be drilled right, due to its MASSIVE flare potential! As I have a direct line to Jason Wonders at VBP (hows that for customer service!) I have access to layout suggestions to make this ball suit everyone! If any drillers out there need help layout wise, or even to pass their ideas past me before drilling it, ill be more than happy to help!

More feedback is welcomed, and ill do my best to answer any questions on this impressive piece!

In case you didnt guess, you were one of the Tasmanians ;)

I flared 3/4 the ball.

I didnt hit the weight hole, due to the fact that I placed it in a VERY safe position, and actually used it as a flare REDUCING weight hole.

I will be trying a high pin, VMB on VAL drilling just to see how much backend potential this ball has, and will keep you guys informed on how that one goes as well!

So are you saying that a hole on PAP probably wouldn't be a wise thing? Just sussing things out before I punch mine up.

Thats the type of layout im trying on Saturday (hopefully get some more vids to show the difference too). From what Jason says, especially with pin over drillings, the Immortal should outbackend the Bronze considerably on most conditions. I would probably also suggest with your speed, to lower the underlying grit and repolish, to give it at least some control! I threw mine box, and it was waaaaay too strong when it hit dry!

Definately go at least an inch in from the VAL to be safe, expecially with your shot. Id suggest throwing the ball before drilling the XH to see how much you do flare, and where the final ring falls. Throwing the ball before XH gives you the option to move it up and down the VAL to give more or less backend as needed!

Never underestimate the power of the XH!

The Bronze I have is set up 5" (under bridge) with the VMB at 45*... gives me a great hook-set reaction and fresh backends (maybe too much as it really jerks when it hits the dry) so hopefully this will give me the same sort of reaction, with just a bit more length. The pin should end up just above my ring finger unless my PAP has changed (possibility since I've changed my release slightly)

Let me know how it goes.
 
Video's great tonx (dont think much of the music ??? if thats what it is...lol :rolleyes: ), I'd like to see someone with less hand throw it however, as alot of us out there are not as blessed as you are with that much hand.

Any suggestions for someone with a 5 inch pap and 0 - 20 % axis tilt, rev rate - not sure - high end stroker almost tweener release, medium - slow speed.

Great Video Tonx.... Now I'm really hanging out for mine...

Was thinking of going with a similar Drilling that Androoo sugested, which is pretty much how my Bronze is drilled, only with the pin about 1 1/2" above the bridge for a bit more push, but I'll probably bring it down a little for this.

Looks great though, I noticed though it seemed to not drive through the head pin very much, more bouncing off it to the right? is that typical of the ball, or more the way you were throwing it?

I was surprised that Tonx didn’t get as many brookies with that ball as he normally does with others. Or maybe that’s why the video took so long all the editing hey mate!!!:) :) :) :)

Good looking ball, i am guessing we will see a few of these on the lanes then.
 
Ash- Massively broken down shot with massive amounts of carry down, combined with a pearlised bowling ball that is drilled for midlane and control = roll, and not backend continuation. Anything with a higher pin, or a stronger MB placement is sure to generate more backend, and entry angle.

Dale- RESPECT Pantera. Mad song. PERIOD! I was gunna do my Immortal by evanessence, but it seemed a little slow ;)

This ball is designed to have push down the lane due to its cover, yet generate good roll and strong backend reaction. Jason and the guys down at VBP tested this ball on Many different shots, in many different centres. The findings with every ball drilled the same pin and MB placements as their comparison Bronze Centaurs, were that this ball goes longer, and covered more boards overall. The Breakpoint was more decisive in all Immortals tested, generating more backend than their comparison balls.

The important thing about this ball. IT IS NOT A HEAVY OIL BALL. It is a medium oil ball, with a large backend potential. its RG numbers are lower than the Bronze which makes it rev harder off the hand, but the cover is more skid flip than the Bronze (its formular is BASED on the G3 and the Green Gargoyle covers)

We were going to get some vids of Max 'the fluff' Bastian throwing it, but due to the camera issue, (lucky at that, Max sucks ;)) didnt get the chance before he went home.

Dale- its all well and good to give me the stats, but I have no idea what you want this ball to do, and where you want it to fit within your current line up ;) Let me know either through this thread, or through Pm's!

I threw 1 brooky mate, and ill be more than happy to post it. This ball somewhat seems easy to get to the pocket, even due to the massive backend. It clears the heads well. ;)

Your just sad that I got mine before you got your's :D Poor widdle Jase ;)

I have an old track thrash that ideally I would like it to be about the same as or maybe just below it. As for what I want it to do well.....to get strikes obiviously !!!! :D

No seriously basically to be a medium/light oil ball and something that will handle some carry down if possible. Hope this is enough info.

PS. I'll get Gav at Richlands to drill this for me anyway.

I'd suggest to gav, to do a 4.5 by 30 degree layout, with a pin above fingers to allow the ball to bite through carry down.

Even though everyone knows im a HUGE track fan ;) I unfortunately have no idea what the thrash did, however box finish should work well for medium light conditions. Your only issue I can see is your speed. If it goes a little early (based on your low speed), perhaps take it up to 2000grit and polish it.

The 4.5by will allow it to roll, the 30 degree will give some control & hook potential, and as formentioned, the higher pin will give some length and backend. If you are wanting to use it on lighter patterns, a flare reducing XH 1inch or so inside val, level with pap may be needed!

Gav is a great driller, and should be able to work something out. If he has any questions, ask him to contact me via msn :D

I can't see strikes being an issue ;)
