[Holt Challenge Victoria]

The Holt Challenge Victoria committee would like to announce the dates for the 2009 team trials.

This is your chance to enjoy the amazing experience of being part of a team competing against and socialising with other bowlers from around Australia!

The 2009 Holt Challenge Teams will compete in the Holt Tenpin Bowling Carnival at AMF Belconnen, ACT from 8th to 17th September, 2009. The Darrell Holt Restricted Challenge and Darrell Holt Classic Challenge Victorian Zone Roll-Offs will be held:

Mentone Tenpin Bowl
Saturday 4th April, 2009 &
Sunday 5th April, 2009
Nominations close Friday 27th March, 2009 (last mail).

We have a lot to live up to Victoria...the Classic Team will be defending their title this year! (Congratulations again to: Sue Cade, Gunther Czmok, Pauline Webster, Jason Motta, Ingrid Coburn, Ray Thompson & Jeanette Kent). So if you are up for the challenge we would love to see you at the newly renovated Mentone Bowl for the roll-offs. Our new challenge will be to bring home the Restricted Trophy this year and to do that we need the support of Victorian Bowlers!

This isn't just for the 'city' bowlers, we enjoyed a fantastic influx of country bowlers into the team last year. In fact three of the top four male bowlers in last years Masters were from Gippsland! (We're looking forward to watching Gunther Czmok defend his Classic Masters title this year!)

Even though we are not on the list we bowled Holt last year as part of the draft program. It was an experience I would recommend to everyone. We made heaps of new friends. If you are thinking of doing this at all, just do it, you won't regret it.

Those who don't make the Vic team are eligible to be drafted by other states and they make you feel like you've been a part of their team forever.

We'll be there again this year, can't wait.:thumbup:

I have to agree with you Vanessa. I was drafted by SQ last year for the Classic team and they were the greatest bunch to bowl with.

There is also the Fusion team. All the bowlers who tried out and didn't make their respective zones and then didn't get drafted are eligible for the Fusion team.

There are so many options to be a part of a great tournament with atmosphere and friendship unrivaled by anything else around.

So go on, have a go!!!!

Come along and try out for Vic Team take part in a enjoyable and exciting time at the roll offs.Even if you are not lucky enough to make the team you could get picked via the draft I got picked up by NT in 2008.I was treated like one of there own from day one and have made life time friends.I would encourage all bowlers to come along and bowl in 2009 Holt Challenge roll offs at Mentone on the 4th & 5th April

Great tournament, great fun, great friendships and if you do not happen to make the Vic team you can put in for the draft to bowl for another State to help them out.

Do yourselves a favour and try out as there is a restricted and a classic team that go away to Belconnen ACT in September.

Don't think that you can make it, or you are not good enough? YOU WILL NEVER KNOW IF YOU DO NOT TRY.

because you do know that in september that it will no longer be yours.

because we are hoping that it will come down to visit tassie for awhile as it looks like it's trying to get away from ya and we will be more than happy to take it off your hands as it would be getting very heavy by now holding it for all this time so when we get to canberra just pass it on over and we wont let any one else know ok. :coolthumb::thmbup:

Yeah if me and Peter were unable to make the team I guess that makes it one hell of a team guys, i have to reciprocate my mates sentiments on this one.

We may have finished runners up to you Victorians last year ( I know this because i managed the team ) but this year the likes of Richard Palma, Jason Osbourne and Ron forbes along with the return of Lynnae Rankine who is fired up this year to show you all how good she can really bowl as well as the experience of Gina Lloyd and the leader of this awesome team Josie Adams, well all i can say is good luck everyone because if there is a super team at Classic level well i just mentioned them.

Um what about the restricted teams. Didn't NSW take home the combined shield Last year? How about the NSW team this year for restricted. Dont ride us off yet. In the words of my great friend "suck it up princess"

Not allowed in Restricted, so that Classic sheild I have in my hands is all that counts to me!
Hopefully I get a leave pass again this year, have to ask now I am married...... and then you really WONT beat the Vics!
