So, for someone who hasnt bowled tournaments much (me) what exactly is the format of this?

the way i understand it to be,
For example you have 24 bowlers, each bowler pays the entry, which in this case in $150, than its eight games every man for himself , with the highest individual of every game out of the 24 bowlers , takes first place with $250 and second place takes $50, you do that eight times over!!! There is in this case no prize for overall first, it's just eight separate games!!!

Ok thanx for that explanation. So, potentially if the same bowler wins all 8 games the prize pool would be $2000.

Hi All,

Due to the lane installation schedule blowing out we have added a twist to this years skins.

First off yes they are still going ahead and on the advertised date, no changes there.

Format is still 8 games.

Here is the changes.

Lanes 1-6 will remain as timber lanes and the lane condition used will be a Kegel Sport or challenge series condition in the short range of patterns.
Lanes 7-12 will be Brunswick Anvilane (Synthetic) and the lane condition used will be a Kegel sport or challenge series condition in the long range of patterns.

We thought it best to halt installation so as not to get caught out come the end of the month. Which is why we came up with this twist in the format.

Each player will bowl 4 games on each condition, alternating from one patttern to the next. At the begining of the event players will be able to warm up on both conditions.

There will be an extra game added as a last chance game (9 games in total), where the players will be allowed to choose the pair on which they want to play on. Selection will start with the player who is holding the lowest average over the previous 8 games, and will work up the feild from there. Once a pair is full (dependant on entries) that pair will be dropped from the selection available (we can't end up with all players on 2 pairs). In addition to this players will be given a bonus pin fall of 50% of the difference in average between their average and the highest average. ""Note this applys to the last game only"".

I hope you all like the small changes and i think it should add to the events success this year.

I can see this being a problem for people ... but i LOVE IT! haha.

Will make me feel right at home seeing as how these lanes here all play differently! I remember they starting trying this on the pba tour about 2008-2009 i think? i think its a great idea and will test most of us i reckon.

Only problem i foresee is people travelling, will be limited on ball choice. 5 should do it.
