FOOTY SEASON STARTS SOON

Just less then 3 weeks to go.

A couple of teams would be rated no chance at winning the NAB Cup - Brisbane and Sydney. Both teams traditionally give this competition no respect and bow out in the first round.

West Coast and Fremantle have been given a soft draw. The winner plays at home in round 2, so the winner would be expected to make the semi finals. (Which should be played away!)

The Victorian clubs that need early wins to help push club membership levels (Bulldogs, Kangaroos, St Kilda - in the past) and those who have been in recent financial trouble (add Carlton, Melbourne to the above list), tend to take this competition more seriously then some. It would be no surprise to these these clubs perform well in the early stages. Main reason behind this is the financial reward of winning the competition. It still surprises me today that the winner of the NAB Cup gets marginally less then the actual premier! (This must be changed soon to reward the premier more!)

Finding a winner of this competition is always tough. I think the winner will come from the following group:
Geelong
St. Kilda
Kangaroos
West Coast
Bulldogs

You will never find a more passionate North Melbourne supporter then myself on this website. I can assure you of that!!

What team do you support? Who do you think will win the NAB Cup?
 
Collingwood through and through had no choice when growing up. Id like to see the magpies get past the first round without any major injuries Any victorian team would be nice sick of brisbane winning!!!

Richmond to win hopefully. But they probably won't.

Can't get excited about the plastic cup with its 9-point goals and other stupid rules, and 4 umpires :rolleyes:

I am also a collingwood fan I would like to see them win but would also like to see a vic team win. I am sick of brisbane winning! (but who won last year?) another interstate team????????

all though you know........ CARLTON may just go back to back in pre season :shock: thats when i'll let you know kel hun!;)

Will Whitnall be able to play more then 4 good games this season?
He plays his 4 good games at the start of the season as well - last season resulted in his 4 all being used in the Wizard Cup.

Hope for his and Carltons sake that he can resist the temptation to eat Hot Dogs and Twisties at The Meadows every Saturday Night (when the blues aren't playing)
