you talk, ill bowl!!!
2014 will see some changes from the old Strike Homes Doubles.
AGM to be held 14 Jan 2014 at 7:30pm Sharp.
First night of league commencing:
21st Jan 2014 7:30pm with 48 weeks to 16 Dec 2014.
Cost $35 per night, 4 games.
$5 per game ($20), prize fund $15 x 48 weeks x 28 bowlers = $20,160 + $1,000 (sponsorship) iECO sponsorship $500 DMS Davlan Sponsorship $500
Total prize fund estimate $21,160 (based on 14 teams, 28 bowlers)
As a league we can make the points system to be what ever we want it to be, the general consensus is to run scratch and handicap points.
I propose the following:
1 point per scratch & handicap game each Individual.
2 points per scratch & handicap series each Individual.
3 points per scratch & handicap Team overall.
Handicap to be decided by the league, this year we had 80% of 220
ie 180 average had 32 handicap, 200 average had 16 handicap etc.
I like this but it can be changed to accommodate the scratch points like 110% of 220 ie 180 average will have 44 handicap, 200 average will have 22 handicap etc might be more suitable.
results would be like this
bowler A (180 average) bowls 180+44=224 (handicap point won)
bowler B (200 average) bowls 200+22=222 (scratch point won)
so the lower average has a slightly better chance of obtaining points handicap as the scratch bowler has to win scratch points.
I'm happy to hear your input for or against
