Congratulations Joan Dean OAM

Gold Coast
Joan Dean, you sure kept that one quiet!

Joan Dean (an Ashmore Gold Coast bowler and carer) has been awarded the Medal of The Order of Australia for her services to athletes with disabilities.
We all knew Joan was a devoted carer and organiser of our Saturday Disability League here at Ashmore, but what we didn't know was that Joan was the Australian Team Nurse for the 1999 World Games and has also been the State Team Nurse for the Special Olympics since 1988.

Joan has been working with people with disabilities for over 40 years.
Well done Joan, and thank you for all those years and all that time you have given to others.

Well Done Joan. Getting recognition of that high order is the only thing that you deserve for putting 40 years into caring, and helping, for people with a disability. This is the very least you deserve.
Congratulations again on your achievements.

Later Da Cowman!
