Belmonte and Putney on ABC NEWS TONIGHT

"Media Alert"

Jason Belmonte and Ann-Maree Putney will appear on ABC News Sport Section tonight 7pm. The interview was recorded at Tenpin City today. So stay tuned for more media releases coming Soon.

It may have been a short segment, BUT IT WAS THERE !

Australia’s highest profile contemporary bowler, Jason Belmonte, was the catalyst for a news segment televised nationally on ABC TV this evening, and judging by the response to today’s media conference, there certainly should be more to come.

As well as the ABC, crews from Australian Associated Press, The Sydney Morning Herald online and The Tenpin Bowling Show were joined by journalists and photographers from national, state and local newspapers in response to a media call featuring Belmo, and Ann-Maree Putney.

I understand Newcastle media will be covering the story tomorrow, while Fox Sports and the nationally broadcast GRANDSTAND program have requested in-studio interviews with Belmo. Specialist magazines in which he has previously featured, including INSIDE SPORT, ALPHA, ASIAN BOWLING DIGEST, etc. are likely to publish follow up stories in coming weeks.

Quite a media blitz, which is precisely what we were aiming for!

Special thanks are due to Jason and Ann-Maree for devoting a precious day of their time to achieve this great outcome, and to the proprietors of TENPIN CITY in Lidcombe for hosting such a successful function on behalf of the sport of bowling in Australia.

Just letting you all know (back in Oz) that I also managed to see the item on the News tonight all the way over here in Brunei (Australia Network on Astro).

Although it was brief, as previously stated, it was there. Well done. A great effort in getting some much needed coverage for our sport!

I watched ABC Channel 2 (WA) news last night and didn't see it - did I miss it while sipping my wine?
Or was it on ABC Channel 22 which is the news for the rest of Australia!
Go WA......................will it be on tonight?
