hey guys,

Just reading up about the recent Ebonite acquistion of Columbia Industries... A main concern in the US was that ebonite has dropped many ball reps across the board. In response to this people have said Ebonite bought columbia but not its contracts, and ebonite doesnt have to honour these.

My question is will this have an effect on Australian contracts and the Ball reps in australia? Can anyone shed a lilltle light...

If you look at the www.ebonite.com and look at their News link you will find that Ebonite has re-signed many of Columbia/Track/Dynothane pro staffers. It might be a while before they get around to dealing with their amateur staffers, equipment reps etc. of which there would be hundreds all over the world. That alone would take some time in sorting out and is probably not at the top of their priority list at the moment given teh logistical nightmare of moving columbias operations from San Antonio to Hopkinsville - ie half way across the country.

It would not be wise to speculate at this time what will happen in relation to the amateur staffers. I am sure there will be a news release from Ebonite in good time.
