Damn good efforts all round there, there were pretty good bowlers averaging less than 190 for the 10 games believe me

Just to keep everyone posted. Belmo lost his 1st round matchplay to Tom Smallwood 612-617 but then bounced back in the loser's bracket to post the best 3 game series of the matchplay so far with a 769-594 win over Keith Odette. He is currently right now up against WRW jr and as it is the loser's bracket it is all do or die from here.

What a great place to be. The Cashman Center has been built for this event and the USBC Championships. It has to be seen to be believed, we have all taken some pics and will put them up soon.

Some pairs are high scoring, others not even close. At one point you have to get deep, the next minute you have to get to the edge. Its all about winning and thats what Belmo managed to against Walter. After two games it was all tied up and it was an old fashioned shoot out and Belmo got up. Im not sure how much it helped him but there was a bunch of aussies in the crowd cheering him on.

We watched Pete Weber and Wu Sui Hong throw 300 today, and Chris Warren threw 299first match and 289 second match (he lost both matches, go figure). We have seen some dream match ups besides the Belmo and Walter match. Pete Weber played Parker Bohn III in the second round, with Weber winning. Tomorrow morning we start with Chris Barnes vs Tommy Jones.

The pro's have been great with photo's and signings - i now have a shirt signed by Walter Ray Williams (#2 all time), Pete Weber (#4 all time), Norm Duke (#7 all time) and Parker Bohn III (#10 all time).

Adrian - I had the pleasure of being paired with Bob Knipple in qualifying, as well as Rick Steelsmith and Chris Loschetter. What an experience!!!

Looking forward to tomorrow, Belmo starts with Craig Tuholski who led qualifying after day one. Fingers crossed Belmo can get through the match and get on a roll. We will all be there cheering him on.

Thanks for the update Adam - almost as good as being there! Hard to believe our lads mixing it, and winning, against the likes of WRW ---- Go Aussies!

Great update Adam. I hope ESPN show more than just the finals when this gets onto pay tv.

Your commentary style is excellent!!

Unfortunately Belmo lost his 1st match this morning which means he is out of the masters in a tie for 25th I believe. Great performance though

A few of us got up early this morning and despite Jason's best efforts he just couldnt quite get the left lane on the pair sorted. Now truth be told his opponent was lucky himself but as we know sometimes it goes your way and other days it doesnt.

We got to see a lot of great matches, and a lot of close matches today. Tommy Jones opened the morning by getting a turkey in the last frame to win the match against Chris Barnes (after he threw a washout in the tenth) - the whole bowl had stopped to watch this. There were many other highlights including Norm Duke throwing 300 (795 series) and Jesse Buss throwing 804 against Matthew O'Grady 757.

But that was nothing compared to the dream match up - Duke vs Weber. In the warm up they mimicked each other with Duke even throwing a crotch chop at Weber - priceless!!!! In true style it went down to the last frame with Duke getting the win (676-659). Weber probably played a little better than Duke but Duke got the win. Duke later fell one win away from making the TV finals losing to Danny Wiseman.

This format and condition has thrown up a number of results that were unexpected (a number of top pro's finished way down the standings with alot of young talented guys going a long way in the event) but its been a great event to watch and also to bowl in.
