Hey just interested what everyone thinks of the 44ft WTBA London oil pattern?
What is the best way to play it?
Have you ever bowled on it? if so how did you go?
Any other comments or suggestions would be great :D

bowled on it a few times this year

National Youth Cup and Sydney Youth i think was the other one.

Maybe AO?

Why is anything longer than 40ft is considered to be the boogey man? I don't get it.

If it plays as it should, you'll need to use some surface, play in and keep a very keen eye on the midlane reaction. Because the volume is low and everyone will use surface, you'll start in and follow it in further almost constantly. It's one of those patterns that when you strike high flush off a good shot, you move when you return to that lane. I hope you're playing on a decent surface, because that'll be the difference between just tough and butt ugly. Unless you have a low rev rate, I'd recommend a strong rolling symmetrical cored ball (defintely not skid-flip), especially on the fresh.

The key point is do not give the pocket away on the long. Maintain a break point and entry angle that keeps you lined up longer by going straighter.

Hope this helps.

Cheers,
Jason
