2008 Melbourne International Question

Anyone can help please do.

The entry form reads:
"Stage One Qualifying– Day One & Two
All entrants will complete 16 games in two separate appearances in their nominated
squad.
At the conclusion of the men’s division - 16 games qualifying, the top 16 bowlers,
consisting of a minimum of one (1) international bowler (non-resident of Australia) will
progress to ‘Stage 2’. At the conclusion of the women’s division the top 8 bowlers,
consisting of a minimum of one (1) international bowler (non-resident of Australia) will
progress to ‘Stage 2’."

What happens if in the mens or ladies the top 16 or 8 (in the ladies) are all Australian? Does this mean that the person in 16th or 8th gets bumped to allow the highest ranked international player in each division? What then happens with the prize money? I really cannot see anyone liking finishing 16th after qualifying, not only getting bumped from the match play but also losing half of the prize money.

Can anyone clarrify this?

Would like clarification on how the international bowler fits into the top sixteen. Are they by invitation and get automatic entry to the finals? To many grey areas in the current entry form. Ideally full clarification is required ASAP to remove speculation that could damage this event before it is even run.

There must be one international bowler in the top 16 (men) and top 8(woman)
This means there is no more than 15 and 7 spots available for local bowlers.

So if you are a local bowler then you will need to finish in the top 15 or 7 to secure your spot.

If you need anymore information, I suggest you contact Rob Zikman the TD at OzTenpin.

Grant
