Thanks for that Chowny. (Such good service at this event!)

It looks very playable (6:1!), but it does beg a question for consideration.

What is the reason the LHS break point is going to be about 3 boards outside of the RHS break point? (Two boards of extra head oil width giving additional skid to a 3-4 board wider entry angle seems rather helpful...) If a pattern is asymmetrical, wouldn't it make sense to have the break point further out on the RHS, where more traffic will wear it down to match up with the left?

I'd be fascinated to know the history on that one. It's a curious pattern.

Good point Jason, they used this pattem last thursday. The scores were good on both side 3 or 4 270+ games on the right, on the left Webber shot 1000+ and I shot 300. Even though I'm a lefty the right should the same or even wider.

macca

your kidding arent you, yes lots of high games but there was only 1 900 series on the right hand side compared to 5 on the left

The right has a hang spot where as the left doesnt, if that was the pattern last thursday i think my name will be coming off the list

I really dont think it matters what the condition is. You should just be there to support the tournament. I think it is great to see mum & Annette doing this for the bowlers. I dont see anyone else wanting to do there own tournament. We are all good enough bowlers to adjust to it. Lets just go & enjoy it.

as far as im concerned it will be my first tourney, and i will give it my best shot and as a sporting person that i am i would like to wish everyone bowling in the tornament GOOD LUCK AND HIGH SCORING!

Macca in stating that the lanes are good on both sides i guess you would have no objection in flipping that pattern over so the right hand side gets that extra oil cause the scores are good on both sides and it makes no difference right

Hey Guy's i think that regardless; get out there and bowl...Chowny and his mum and all involved are doing there best to promote the sport of bowling in NSW…I think this looks to be a great event and if I wasn’t running one here in QLD on the same weekend I would of been there myself…Hats of to all involved to try and get tournament bowling off the ground again in NSW…Regardless of what the pattern looks like support the event… you might just be pleasantly surprised…

Negativity of a new event can sometimes only see them become one offs…We all know that we don’t want that in this sport…Well done Chowny on helping run it all…Hats off to you mate…

Surely a right handed cranker wouldn’t pick a left handed pattern for the event…:D

Hey Im just wondering when the A squad "Should" finish up by what time. Im asking this cause I got my first week of metro cup at castle hill at 2pm and from what ive been told by a reliable source, breakdowns occur often and the "floating floor" as he calls it causes bowling balls to disappear and never come back lol.

Not that I'm expecting to be participating, but what time does it start on Sunday? Sorry if it's been posted and I missed it. Is it the same time as squad 1 on Saturday?

Cheers.
